its way too early to say thatI guess no PS3 BC then
Hell NO! I prefer efficiency and I will pay the extra buck for it. I'm not a horder and I can't stand having a cluster of things stored somewhere. I'm a clean freak. What I hate even more is setting up the dame console up to my tv when I'm am only planing to use it once through out the whole winter. So even if the PS4 is backwards compatible you would still drag your PS3 or PS2 out just to play their respective games?
Why would you want this? Would of that hinder the quality of PS4 games?PlayStation 4 Ditching The Cell Processor, Sources Say, Which Leads to Some Wild Theories.
I really hope this is true. *fingers crossed*

Does that really matter when multiplatform developers don't plan on surpasing the X-box 360 limitations with the PS3 port? This makes sense, the Playstation 3 has been inferior for most multiplatform games. Removing backward compatibility will allow the companies to re-package and re-sell "re-imagined" and "HD enhanced" versions of games you already own. All in all, a huge win for Sony.

Not everybody has the earlier consoles, my PS3 doesn't have backward compatibility which s***s because i would like to play such games as Killzone 1, the Ratchet & Clank games, many other games i don't remember the name, the next X-box should better have backward compatibility too, because i want to play the Halo games and Alan Wake there.lol, no sale? Is backwards compatibility really that important? I don't know about you guys but if I wanna play PS2 games I play them on my PS2. When I get a PS4 and I get the urge to play PS3 games I'll just play them on my PS3.
Alot of those games are out of print and hard to find so I dont think including BC will take away from HD remake sales. If its possible, I think they will try to include PS1-3 support in the PS4. I think many people will still buy the HD remakes even if their system can natively play the original games. Ive purchased and played alot of the HD collections and my PS3 can play PS2 games. But PS2's are only $40. You can get one and few games for the price of a new PS3 game if you really want to play those games you mentioned.
I think Sony will have PS3 BC built in to PS4. They learn from their mistakes, just look at Vita. I do think PS1 and PS2 BC being included will not happen though. They will be making extra money off the HD remakes and PSOne Clasics DL's.
It does when they can't even make the games equal. More often than not the PS3 version is worse, either graphically or with performance. It's not usually something substantial, but it is noticeable.
Something like Red Dead Redemption. Both versions played fine and looked great, but the 360 version could handle more environmental stuff (grass, brush, better shadows, etc..) than the PS3 could and it ran at a higher resolution. I don't see how any 360 "limitations" would result in something like that on the PS3.
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Just saying, my friend.Yes?
