I don't think it's just the blu-ray drive. No doubt about it, blu-ray is a big factor, but you still have to take into account that this is the PlayStation brand we're talking about which is still huge and with the PS3 now at an affordable price, you have former PS2 owners who were waiting to buy one, and they now have an effective advertising campaign all thanks to Mr. Kevin Butler.Isildur´s Heir;17779206 said:I think it´s official to say, Microsoft, unless they make something realllllly drastic, they are in for a gigantic fall, and they will lose second place in 2010.
I was just looking at the numbers, and .....
Not only the PS3 outsold the 360 on Black Friday, the two most pre-ordered games in the US at this point are: God of War and MAG
All of this just to say that, they can very well release a new console 3 years after the next Xbox, the playstation will always win.
Unless the real reason is the blur-ray drive, which, in this case, Microsoft needs to release one.....fast.
Although personally, if the PS3 ends up in second place, I think it'll happen in late 2010, internationally. But that's sorta expected, I'm curious to see if it'll take second place in North America which is essentially the 360 stronghold.
