I don't give a **** about BC because I kept all my games and systems! Oh Snap!

Some people are not hoarders. I have my systems too, but I rather give them away and have one system that plays all the games. It's more convenient and better, especially for the military folks. besides I don't want to bring my friends, family or a girl to my apartment and give them an eyesore by letting them see the mess of all my systems hook up to my tv. It kind of Gives them the wrong idea of what I do with my free time.

I think that the console makers should offer two different models: a cheaper one without BC for those that don't care and a slightly more expensive model for those who do have PS1, 2 and 3 games that they still want to continue playing.

I have both my PS2 and PS3 still on my entertainment cabinet, while I have kept my NES and SNES in the bottom of my closet. And yes, I still have the boxes for both my Playstations.

This would be a nice option. Not sure it will happen, but it would be cool for those who never bought a PS3 and want to play the exclusive games it had.

I still think Sony will have BC with PS3 at least.

I can see it in the beginning at least. Sony did offer 2 versions of the PS3 at first with slightly different features before streamlining things. Id pay the extra upfront for the BC if given the option

I would too. The issue I see with two SKU's that different is, that the rumors say that Cell is being abandoned. They would have to build a hybrid (Cell/AMD) specifically for that SKU to get BC to work. That would be more expensive and probably risky for them if no one buys it.

I really don't like the PS4 rumors so far...however...I think my brother wants one now. He's deaf, we both live at home...he has used Xbox,...PS2 or used PS2, PS3, and I have the Wii which no one hardly uses. And we have one of those awesome switch boards...so all the consoles are plugged in at once in the back and in the front we just press the button that goes to that system. But we don't have ''room' for anymore consoles, and when I do move out...if...when...blah, point is, I think I like keeping consoles. Thanks to AVGN I want a Genesis and Saturn lol. But, I dunno why I posted all of this..but the PS4 really bugs me with it's ''restricted use of used games''.

What exactly is the next technological leap being taken from the PS3 to PS4 even? I haven't really heard anything but somewhat improved graphics? more PlayStation move incorporation? Is that really worth spending over $500 on a new system?

Every generation should be breaking new ground, i don't see what innovations are coming with this.

Blu-Ray was the only reason the PS3 was that expensive. It won't be the case this time around.

So could MS and Nintendo for that matter. We will just have to wait and see.

That $600 price tag might as well have been an anchor on the PS3. No way in hell will any of the next consoles launch at that price.

Sony has already done it. So more eyes are on Sony then the other two & I think Microsoft & Nintendo knows not to do that. But would Sony risk doing it again ? We will see

The management up at Sony and more importantly its Playstation division has changed since 6 years ago. Things higher up are MUCH different now. Dont expect a repeat of the PS3 launch. I have more faith in Jack Tretton and Andrew House now than Kutaragi back in 2006. Dont know much about House as he's new in the position but Jack at least is nowhere near as arrogant or clueless about things as Kutaragi is. He's actually been the primary force behind redeeming the Playstation brand and helping it recover following the PS3 launch year
