In the era of the quest for realism in movies, why is it you rarely see the average person in movies accidentally standing in dog crap or tripping over when walking and then doing that thing were they turn it into a little bit of a jog for a few seconds to make it looked like they meant to do it?

Are there any things that occur quite regularly in real life that you think should occur in movies more often?

Me? I see people picking their noses all the time when they're driving. I don't think we see enough nose-picking in movies to reflect this, personally..........

'Realism' is just a style, it's idealised realism. That is, it's gritty when it has to be, because people want to see gritty at the moment. People don't actually want to see real life though, or they would not go to the cinema.

Hollywood is a perfect world where everyone is beautiful and nobody does things that we see every day. It is escapism. Why do you think we complain when people talk in the theater? Those people are the ones who you should observe when you go see a movie. And when we watch movies at home, in any way, we're in our underwear or having dinner or picking our nose, or all of the above at once.

That's why we don't see what you're asking for. Because we the audience are already doing those things.
