Damn, the car chase/fight clip is sublime. The 31st can't get here soon enough!

For those interested(which I think is 3 of us) the list of theaters that will be showing The Raid 2 are up on theraidtwo.com.

Interesting Interview.
Find out which Iko thinks was the most difficult choreography :woot:

Can't believe some of the critics over at RT. So much stupidity. This film should be at 90% or more, but instead it's at 76% because some critics can't handle violence. Boo hoo, go watch The Hunger Games if you don't want violence.

Iono if I should attend tonight's midnight screening. Gonna be near 3am when I get out.

Hearing that this film is even way more over the top in violence has made me more excited for the film.

Anyone here form NY or LA? I'm jealous you can see this now. 2 more weeks for me.

So I went to the midnight show after all and as expected this movie delivers on what you're wanting.

Obviously the best things about the movie are the action sequences. Evans has a whole bunch of different environments to stage the fights instead of being confined to one building like in the first movie. As a result we got a great car chase sequence that was a lot of fun to watch. I also want to highlight how brutal and real the violence felt, I'm sure they used CGI but I couldn't tell where.

If I had any problems it would have to do with the plotting and pace. The story itself is fine, nothing you haven't seen before and I was engaged throughout. But there were some scenes that just felt unnecessary and would've been better if they were trimmed. Another thing would be that I wanted more Baseball Bat Man and Hammer Girl. They were fun characters and only got to 'work' in two scenes.

Lastly, it surprised me with bits of humor here and there. They were sight or situational gags that added a lot to the experience.

Can't really say if this or the previous one was better since I enjoyed both. They are different enough where comparisons aren't really needed.

Is this movie a limited theatre showing? It's nowhere near any movie theatre around my area. Was looking forward to seeing it this weekend:doh:

Yep 5/5 for me. Incredible film. Incredible series so far. Its amazing how instead of just doing the first one again in a different building like for example die hard 2, it feels different, it acts different, it has a different vision, and it nails it just as much as the original nailed its vision. I really hope evans doesnt get taken by hollywood because following the beat to his own drum is getting us amazing films. I want a third one so bad. This is how you do a sequel. I'm so pumped up right now!

Those lucky people that saw it, how does the final fight compare to the first film?

Personally I prefer the final fight in this movie over the first. I prefer if its 1v1 and also the fight in this felt like it had more variety while the first movie felt a bit repetitive at times.

Yeah that's great to hear. Is the movie as violent as everyone is saying? Sometimes things get out of hand with claims as "most violent film ever"

Guys i just got out of my showing and i am nearly speechless. This movie was absolutely INCREDIBLE. My body is literally still cooling off from the sheer visceral intensity that was The Raid 2. Guys. This movie makes the first one look like a pillow fight. This is without a doubt the most incredibly coreographed, most brutal, most visceral, most intense action I have ever seen. The fight scenes. OH THE FIGHT SCENES. i am in awe as to how they were able to pull off such real looking, brutal brawls. This movie raises the bar to a level I never knew existed and you wont be able to watch other action films the same way.

Im still gathering my thoughts but, my friends, the final fight scenes. Those fight scenes. They will leave u breathless. ( personally i preferred the second to last battle, wont spoil what happens but my theater ERUPTED in applause when it was done).

In short. Guys GO SEE AND SUPPORT THIS MOVIE. NOW!

Let me guess...[BLACKOUT]grand slam?[/BLACKOUT] my audience also erupted when it happened, especially the few seconds after which caused a lot of laughter.

Yup! And same here dude. My audience loved it. During all of the fights everybody was going "oooh!" "Aaaahhh!". This was a great theater experience you can tell the crowd was eating it up. Last time I had a theater experience like that was The Avengers.
