Great and to the point interview by Gareth Evans.

The trailers have me feeling 'meh' about this one. I loved the first one but I think this one will be overstocked with action scenes. I mean, one guy beating the crap out of 50+ henchmen 3-4x in a single film could get old real fast (ex. Tony Jaa and every movie he made).

Evans mentioned on Twitter he has an idea for a movie where Scott Adkins and Zoe Bell are a villanous Mr. and Mrs. Smith type duo. That sounds like it could be awesome.

The reviews say otherwise.

Thanks for those vids. The chick who plays Hammer girl is very very nice.

She became popular in Indonesia after starring in that horror movie, the whisper.

After watching the trailer for this movie, i was very surprised to see her performing those fancy martial arts moves...hehe

Gotta agree with you on this one too. The action scenes looks great, and i do like martial arts movies. But really not a fan of those martial arts movies that looks too choereograph ( Tonya Jaa example again)

Wasn't it "Macabre"?

Evans said in an interview, he know that the audience will either totally love it or totally hate it.

Well, I'm not talking about the critics. What I adored about the original was the gritty atmosphere. That appears to be gone. The sequel thus far gives me the perception that it'll be over-the-top.

Agreed. I think this sequel is lacking the charm the first one possessed. Oh well.

I think this film's going to make a killing at the box-office. Look at it's freaking reviews! This film is going to challenge The Matrix: Reloaded to become the highest grossing R-rated film ever almost guaranteed by the way word-of-mouth is spreading. People are loving this film! I think that it's going to make a killing at the box-office because the action scenes are some of the best filmed stunt sequences since the first two Matrix films and the first two Terminator movies as well. That extreme level of action is really gonna draw people in because audiences love action and this one has a lot of realism in it too which makes it scary as well (Paranormal Activity drew in horror fans, The Raid 2 will draw in action fans).

It's been a while since we've seen a straight-up, no-nonsense action film that wasn't cheesy in anyway, and was actually kind of humorous at moments too, I think people will love The Raid 2, same as with the first instalment. Ever since it's come out it's become a hit. People love it, so they'll take the chance to see it again and love it even more because they get to see what they originally missed on the big-screen for the first-time (because a lot of people, like me, didn't get to see it originally in theatres and I'm excited to do so this time around). I cannot wait to see this film (and I'd love to see Gareth Evans' take on Iron Fist and/or Mortal Kombat in the near-future as well).

I wish. But unfortunately it involves reading, which will turn a lot of people off. You might be onto something for The Raid remake though.

Reading, do u mean subtitles . **** that **** i hate simple minded **** like that because people to damn lazy . If im watching a Asian MA film or Anime i don't touch that dubbed version. I put it on original and have english subtitles. Its the way it was intended to be watched its more immersive. Personal opinion .

Yeah, a lot of American moviegoers won't go see a movie with subtitles. Which is ironic really, because if it's anything like the first one, there won't be excessive dialogue anyway.

LOL, Hollywood's at it again. :whatever: Why remake a perfect movie? Why not just follow it up or say that it's a continuing story? They could have done the same with this Robocop remake, but no, of course not, it must be a straight-up remake (for whatever stupid reason). Make it original, or go home. I really hope that this sequel kills the American remake before it's even begun filming, why not just have Gareth Evans involved? Are they gonna try and make it PG-13 for everyone now?

That's what I was thinking too. Also, I think audiences are starting to get used to reading subtitles in movies more often. Look at The Wolverine, for instance, about a third of the film is subtitled and people didn't seem to mind whatsoever. I hope this film does great, Slumdog Millionaire is another example of a winning foreign language film, not action, but people went out to see it (despite the language barriers).

This is by far my most anticipated movie of the year. It just looks gloriously chaotic.

Reviews loved the first one and I thought it was ok at best. Over choreographed fight scenes don't do anything for me. When you can tell they're choreographed, I stop caring

Yeah, people probably will eventually come around to that line of thinking.

Although I think the problem with remaking a movie like this is, even if you cast a bunch of really good actors in the roles, it's not going to be hard to train them up so that the martial arts sequences are even HALF as impressive as they are in the real thing.

So much better than the Redemption posters.
