*sigh* It's so..pointless.
Evans is producing although lets face it the charm of raid were the brutal
Martial arts sequences. The remake must bring something new and fresh because just brutality aint gonna cut it . Perhaps have the actors learn mma . Also shia le beoef is rumored. Really i mean really ??!!??

For folks in the US, The Raid 2 has just been rated R.

And in all honesty the few cuts we made are so minimal. We are literally talking frames - and not too many of them. I’m ****ing happy.
Fun fact:
> Dredd Movie gets a script
> Raid uses that script
> Raid movie comes 1st
> Dredd movie comes
> Raid 2 is coming out
> Raid remake is coming out.
I have no issues with American remakes of foreign films.
HOWEVER.
The Raid, just like Old Boy, are movies that have slipped into the American/Western World's lexicon. It left such a mark that even my friends who aren't into foreign films have seen The Raid and Old Boy.
And like what many has said, the actors in The Raid are people who have practiced this brutal style of martial arts for decades. You can't just train an American dude for a few months. You can tell the difference. It's less earnest.
That's not entirely true though. Julie Estelle who plays Hammer girl is one of the most violent and skilled fighters in the movie and she had no prior fighting experience at all.
She's working with two amazing choreographers , something hollywood has no idea what it is.
Verdict:
Sumptuously shot, perfectly paced and flat-out exhilarating, The Raid 2 cements Evans as the best action director working today. Fight aficionados should brace themselves for a bruising, blistering ride.
Yep
