Poe's Raven Flies Again
Source:Variety January 6, 2009

FilmNation, a newly born production company, is going to produce The Raven with another entity, Endgame, financing.

Scripted by Ben Livingston and Bionic Woman's Hannah Shakespeare, the story has nothing to do with Edgar Allan Poe's narrative. Instead, it picks up in the final days of the author's life and finds him being drawn into a serial killer investigation.

The Raven is being overseen by FilmNation's Aaron Ryder whose credits include Donnie Darko, Memento, Monster and The Prestige. Quite an impressive resume. We'll keep you posted when a writer and director are attached.

So why call it "The Raven?" Why not The Make-Believe Adventures of Edgar Allen Poe or something?

It's ridiculous... Poe wrote so many great stories and instead of adapting on of those creepy tales on film, they have to make up some crap and title it after his most famous work. Idiots.
