Aside from the DS and DS Lite, the PS2 is, I believe, the hottest selling piece of console hardware out right now. Not even the newer Xbox 360 can match it in monthy sales. So the real competitor for both the Wii and PS3 is, I think, the PS2. Isn't that crazy?
Oh, and in other news, I don't know if you guys already know, but the Playstation 3, as expected, will not be meeting its goal of 6 million units on launch day. Instead, it will only ship 3 million units. http://japan.seekingalpha.com/article/15865
Personally, I think the PS2, the Wii, and the PS3 will be battling for the lead in Q4.
