damn it. where is the movie?
The Weinsteins usually release a trailer and market a movie as late as possible. At the earliest, we'll probably get a trailer at the end of summer.
good artical, sucks that weinstein can't see why giving an explaination for the world is not needed and unwanted. at least it won't be in the film.
.. because that's exactly how i feel. the trailer should've been like the "assassination of jesse james" one : calm, sad, beautiful.boo. bad trailer. where's the heart, the soul, the fear, the sadness? why did they sell this as a thriller and not as a big important oscar worthy movie? bad call dimension.
Exacty the vibe I got from the trailer. JoBlo actually summed it up for me.I will quote a comment from slashfilm :

this trailer sells the movie like it was "I am Legend 2"
In an article the other day in Esquire, their writer called THE ROAD the "most important" movie of 2009. Of course he also went on to caution that The Weinstein Co. was threatening to **** it all up with their marketing campaign. They warned that the trailer would try to explain what happened that led to post-apocalyptic future in the movie, something that was never explained in the book or by its author Cormac McCarthy. Sure enough at the beginning of this trailer, we have stock footage of lighting, fires and tidal waves with a newscast voiceover. The movie looks awesome but this trailer isn't really helping the cause.
