"The Room" is the best- worst movie of ALL TIME!!!

Troll 2 is pennys compared to the Room.

Troll 2. The Room was yesterday, tonight will be Troll 2.

Ah, good.
Will tomorrow be Batman & Robin? :o

Also people has said Birdemic: Shock and Terror is a great bad movie but I disagree. It's a movie so bad, it's bad.

I actually watched B&R last night, too. I guess I was bored. :woot:

I'll be sure to catch the annual April Fools midnight showing of this on Adult Swim. It'll be my first time watching it. The Nostalgia Critic's review has me convinced it's a must-see just to laugh at it.

Guys look on youtube for "The Room Knight 2"

:funny:

I actually bought an advanced ticket to see this at a local movie theatre this May. I willingly paid money to see this. There's either something very wrong or very right with that.

Initally I thought that Birdemic: Shock and Terror could be a great addition to the 'Best Worst" movie genre, but it's pacing is so damn slow that it ends up being tedious. At least The Room's pacing was fast enough that it makes for an enjoyable guilty pleasure.

Yeah with Birdemic, they knew what they wanted to make a terrible film (even though people has said otherwise). So they tried wayyy too hard so it didn't feel genuine like The Room.

I saw it this weekend on a guys weekend. It was awesomely bad.

Why did Johnny laugh when he found out about the woman who was beaten up so bad she had to go to hospital?

Because it's such a story!

Oh hai thread, didn't know it was you.

I have a really hard time ironically appreciating bad movies for being as bad as they are. I just can't get over the fact that I could be watching something more worthwhile.

I can't call it one of the worst. For me, the worst movies are the ones that make me angry, make disgusted, that offend me. Movies like The Room, Plan Nine From Outer Space, Manos, The Hands of Fate bring me so much genuine joy that I can't include them with movies like those that bring an intensely negative reaction out of me. Yes, the makers of these movies didn't intend for them to be taken the way they are, but it doesn't mean I don't truly enjoy watching them.

To me, worst is based around concept, execution and expectations. The Wolfman remake is on my list. Such high expectations. 8 Mile was a terrible concept. Battlefield Earth was epically bad execution. Same with Ultraviolet.

Plan 9 was the most special movie of all time (actually watched it again last night) but because its so special, it doesn't fit worst.

See the deal is with the Room is that approach it from a non-ironic standpoint. Yes it's a terrible movie, but it is legitimately enjoyable mostly due to it being bizarre and entirely earnest. It's also just great fun watch with a large group of people and the in-theater antics that have developed around the film simply add to the oddness of the film.

The movie is ridiculous but it is sincere. It's not like one of those Asylum movies that are just bad for the sake of gaining notoriety for its badness.

So it looks like Greg Sestero, who plays Mark in the movie, is working on a memoir about what it was like to be in the Room, and the affect it's had on his career and such. I believe I read it'll be out in the spring of this year, and I truthfully cannot wait for it.

Will it be called "Oh hai Mark."

.....I played the entire game. I thought it was pretty funny.
