Who gets to then judge what is quality and what is not? Let the people decide with their own money.

I do, duh. (= Seriously by any objective standard standard, Rush is a moron, who lowers the tone of debate, if it weren't for the fact the fact that many of his fans are mindless sheep with no sense of taste, then maybe he would stop polluting the airwaves. Let's not treat this guy like he is a philsopher king. Rush is about as entertaining as Ms. Spears, not very, they are/were popular because people are stupid and easily fooled by marketing. Rush is a moral hypocrite with poor debating skills, who shouts a lot, that's just nonsense.

LOL, so skin color is the difference - thats great.

Rock and Chappelle mock white people all the time, they should be fired too.

Their comedians though, not poltical pundits. Let me now when Rush becomes funny instead of just stupid.

Oh, b_f....you so wrong-headed, dawg.

Eddie Murphy's White Man caracter was supposed to represent a charicature of a White Man.

In "Soul Man", C. Thomas Howell plays a White kid POSING as a Black Man.
Jupiter-Sized difference.

Also, Rush does not do a "news" show. It's a political opinion/commentary show. He expresses his opinions ABOUT news stories.

He does not have the stature of a journalist like Tom Brokaw, and then come on and "REPORT" the news, that Feminazis are lame.
:whatever:

Look dude, try to keep up.
It's okay for Black people to make derogatory comments based on the race of White people because White people really, really mistreated Black people hundreds of years ago.
We're all responsible for what all those dead racist ass****s did.
Rock and Chappelle have endured unspeakable hardships so it's a case of "Two Wrongs Make A Right".

Understand now? :)

Hundreds of years ago? Dude pick up a 20th century history book.

And yes telling a derogatory Jew jokes in Germany is terribly worse than a Jewish guy making fun of the way German's dance. It's called historical context and it doesn't matter if the Jew who heard the anti-semitic joke never experienced the Holocaust it's still worse than the "German's can't dance" joke..

Understand now? :csad:

Check yourself before you wreck yourself, son. :o

Yeah so Eddie Murphy wasn't "posing" as a white person? When was the last time you saw the skit?

You can express your opinion on a new channel but you can't say what ever you feel like. Comparing someone who interviews senators and presidential candidates on a regular basis to people who do absurd skit comedy on comedy networks is just plain deceptive.

Carlos Mencia can make fun of just about anyone and people will know it's satirical shock comedy. If Bill O'Rielly says a soccer team with many latino team members is a bunch of wetbacks nobody is going to be laughing. Why? Because they're not completely sure of the context of the statement. Was he joking or being malicious.

But every person with their own show on a news network has enough sense to know they can't get away with what Sarah Silverman says on her Comdey Central show.

Except for Don Imus. The guy's an idiot.

The Eddie Murphy skit had Eddie Murphy getting free money from the bank because he was white.

It was exaggerating the social advantages of being white, making fun of the idea that whites have it easy because their white. I thought the reverse discrimination cry babies would love that skit.

Check yourself before you wreck yourself, son. :o
Well you'd better CHIGGIDY-Check yourself.

OMG, dude....are you "playing dumb" just to make me have a stroke? :???:

Soul Man is not about C. Thomas Howell posing as a Black man.
It's a work of fiction, aBOUT a fictional character who stupidly tries to pose as a Black man to get into college....who, in real life, is played by C. Thomas Howell.
Eddie Murphy is a guy, in real life, who has posed as a white man CHARACTER...who is supposed to be a real White man, and when he does it, he portrays them in an offensive manner, which is supposed to evoke their "Whiteness" for the audience.

You obviously are one of the clueless critics of Rush who doesn't actually listen to the show, but instead makes judgements based on hearsay and prejudice...because Rush has absurd skits daily. He does satirical "shock" comedy every day, and also talks seriously about politics.
I can't believe how narrow-minded you thought-fascists are.

There's a difference having an opinion and being plain old mean spirited. Rush is mean spirited.

Damn, how silly of me :o

It's called CONTEXT. Rush did not come up with that name, "Magic Negro" - a columnist in the LA Times did, who also is black, btw. Rush also did not create the song - someone else did. But because he plays it on his show, to prove a point, which you yourself bought right into (he stated it would only be a matter of time before leftists accuse him of coining the phrase and coming up with the song, which it actually occurred in other forms of media first), he's somehow a "racist".

I don't necessarily think it's right that he played the song - as it simply gives you lefties more ammo, legit or not. But I also don't think you can compare him to Imus. Imus spoke for himself when he spewed that racist garbage. All Rush is doing is airing something that has already been aired in LIBERAL media outlets. Granted, Rush has a wider audience and thus attracts more attention, but still, it is what it is.

I believe we have an answer here folks.

Now please go on about your daily lives.

See, now those are all your opinion - and while you are certainly entitled to yours, it is no more valid than any Rush supporter.

Their comedians though, not poltical pundits. Let me now when Rush becomes funny instead of just stupid.

Funny too is subjective. Rush is an entertainer plain and simple. His job is not to inform, it is to entertain and bring in listeners. So is Chris Rock's, or Dave Chappelle.

Watch the skit in it's entirety. It starts with Eddie Murphy putting on white make up to go "undercover" and see what it's like to be white.

In Soul Man the character tries to pass for a black guy to take advantage of affirmative action and hilarity ensues. There are plenty of scenes that show extremely ugly stereotypes about blacks but the movie balances itself out with social commentary and sympathetic black characters.

Soul Man makes fun of stereotypes and so does the Eddie Murphy in his skit. The Eddie Murphy skit is just like the "jive talk scene" in Airplane it's so exaggerated and extreme it lampoons the stereotype itself.

And no, blacks doesn't really think whites get free money at the bank. The perception that whites have it easy is being lampooned more than whites themselves.

Fascist? Just because I think malicious shock comedy doesn't belong on a news channel. Do you think a parent who doesn't want Grindhouse on nickelodeon is a fascist too?

Sarah Silverman would get fired as a host of a MSNBC or CNN news radio program if she said the things she says freely on the Sarah Silverman Show AND YOU KNOW IT!

Don't play dumb. :yay:

Yes, you people who think you can EITHER comment on the news OR use satire and "shock" in the name of entertainment want to dictate what people can and can't say and I feel strongly about that, because guess what....people were VERY offended by what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had to say, and thank God they couldn't shut up someone with differing opinions....that's why they had to resort to killing him. :o

I understand that you are talking about one Eddie Murphy skit. But, he had quite a career aside from that one skit, and when he acted "White", it was derogatory. You can continue to live in denial about that if you want to. *shrug*

I haven't listened to Rush in years and was not aware that he is now an anchor on CNN or MSNBC. :???:
Jon Stewart would be fired if he were trying to be a journalist as well.....but he's not fired.....because he's a satirical commentator on politics and world events, like Rush is. :o

Jon Stewart doesn't go out of his way offend anybody for the sake of "shock". He just makes fun of politicians. Nothing he does is worth being fired over.

Spoken like a true liberal.
He most definitely goes out of his way to say things that will offend conservatives.
And, you are correct, he hasn't said anything worth being fired over, and neither has Rush.

Rush is an idiot. If they got rid of Imus, Rush should get the boot.

Isn't there an old school yard saying like "two wrongs don't make a right"

Eh, if some dude beat up my sister, I'd kick his ass. Maybe two wrongs don't make a right, but it sure would feel right.

Rush is an idiot. If they got rid of Imus, Rush should get the boot.

How naive of you. Imus didn't get fired because of what he said. He got fired because advertisers were threatening to back out.

See, now those are all your opinion - and while you are certainly entitled to yours, it is no more valid than any Rush supporter.

Please the fact he seems to want to be taken seriously makes him worthy of scorn. You are either a serious commentor or an entertainer, you are either funny or serious. Don't give me this half-way BS, pick a god damn side. Until he can say what he is, I say he is an idiot.

Funny too is subjective. Rush is an entertainer plain and simple. His job is not to inform, it is to entertain and bring in listeners. So is Chris Rock's, or Dave Chappelle.

Is Rush on Comedy central or does he have his own HBO comedy special? No, then he isn't a comedian, because he never him claim that he was a comedian.

If Rush Limbaugh should be fired so should Jon Stewart.

Jon Stewart is supposed to be comedian, what the hell is Rush supposed to be?

..............
rush apologises or states he's just "joking" when he says this mess,... apparently that makes it ok.

tsk.
