Have any of you guys actually listened to Rush Limbaugh? Sure he makes political commentary but the guy is hilarious.

I listen to him on my hour lunch breaks and sometimes he does say things that make me think "I can't believe he just said that" but for the most part I don't take his **** seriously. I read Yahoo news or watch a news tv or newspaper for my news, but I listen to Rush for entertainment. You really think he has "one brain tied behind his back to keep it fair" ? That he really has a Rush Limbaugh School for advanced conservatism?

People have to chill cos this ****'s getting out of hand.

don't fire rush,... hit him in his wallet.

i don't feel he is balanced,.. his stance on most things involving difference is too rigid with the advantage surprizingly always going to the white guy.

Listening to his reasoning as to he feels obama can't be president sounds real petty and reminded me why i don't listen to him too much anymore.

I don't give him the opprotunity to offend me. I do not watch his show. I suggest that if Rush offends you don't watch or listen to him...like I don't watch or listen to him.

I don't, but his hypocripsy and intellectual dishonesty piss me off in principal, I'm sick of people worshiping this fool, while true scholars are forgotten. I'm sick of tired of conservatives treating this overated hack as someone to be respected. If your wondering how I know this, I have been to his website now and again. People like him are ruining the art of political debate. Personally I hope his bad karma catches up to him and I hope he fails. I don't like him on a conceptual level.

It's called CONTEXT. Rush did not come up with that name, "Magic Negro" - a columnist in the LA Times did, who also is black, btw. Rush also did not create the song - someone else did. But because he plays it on his show, to prove a point, which you yourself bought right into (he stated it would only be a matter of time before leftists accuse him of coining the phrase and coming up with the song, which it actually occurred in other forms of media first), he's somehow a "racist".

I don't necessarily think it's right that he played the song - as it simply gives you lefties more ammo, legit or not. But I also don't think you can compare him to Imus. Imus spoke for himself when he spewed that racist garbage. All Rush is doing is airing something that has already been aired in LIBERAL media outlets. Granted, Rush has a wider audience and thus attracts more attention, but still, it is what it is.

so wait, his point is that if he put something on his show that's meant to shock people, people will be shocked? and this was somehow a revelation he came up with?
how is that context? does this mean if he had said "I'll do it to upset the ******s!" you'd still be saying "but look at the context!" Rush has no context.
it's also interesting that you're regressing into full right wing unbalanced nuttery "lefties""liberal media" it's like a long punchline with you.
plus, given Rush's comments back in 03 about Donovan McNabb it's really no surprise what's being done now, it's CONTEXT as you put it. as well as the whole "black people will drown in survivor"epic, or was that to "Poke fun at liberal media" as well?
It wasn't, Rush says that kind of stuff because like Imus, he is playing to his audience. Older conservatives who look back fondly upon the old times when "negroes"didn't vote and **** like that.

infact, his whole speech was a veiled , very thinly veiled commentary on the state of the US today a diorect quote is
"The white tribe, I have to tell you -- I don't have a whole lot of hope in the white tribe"
I'm sure his motives were pure.

so whether it's exploiting the race divide in the US or making fun of parkinson's victims, you always have to take one thing into account with Rush.

i never said limbaugh should be fired. here's my original comment on this situation:

i definitely don't agree with his statements, but i don't think he should be fired. i just don't understand how people would want to listen to him. it just goes to show how low we've sunken in our society when people like him get the kind of ratings he gets.

now, how can you compare jon stewart to him when you've never watched the daily show? stewart rips on politicians from both parties and he's never sunken to the level of limbaugh by making controversial statements about someone's race, religion, sexual preference or disability, at least not in a mean spirited way.
