"Tom Brady makes the pass to Randy Moss. It's good and Randy is running faster than his ancestors did to get to the North...back to you Paul"

"*....goddamnit Rush :facepalm"

Is it wrong to have laughed at that :csad:

I laughed with a combination of shock and disbelief added in. Despite the fact that Rush is a complete moron, and is known for his idiotic remarks, he still never ceases to amaze me.

Once again, a Republican politician criticizes Rush Limbaugh, then retracts his statement:

"Rush Limbaugh is meaningless to me," James Tedisco told the editorial board of The Daily Star on Thursday. "The only constituency I'm worried about are the residents of the 20th Congressional District [in New York]."

Moments later, Tedisco's congressional campaign issues an apology:

"Jim’s comments were in response to a question about what voters are asking him about on the campaign trail. So far, the concerns he has been hearing from voters on the campaign trail have been local in nature, such as his support for lower property taxes, fiscal responsibility, and his opponent’s appalling support for the AIG bonus loophole. That was his point and any effort to characterize it otherwise is a distortion of the facts."

All I have to say is.....so what?

I don't want to play into the "Rush is the leader of the Republican Party" rhetoric which has been going on, because to consider him as such would be insulting to the Republicans who have actually gotten off their asses and worked to get where they are today... HOWEVER, when Republicans constantly criticize Rush Limbaugh, then turn around and apologize or retract their criticism, it caters to the idea that he is far more than your average political pundit...

I agree, but I still wonder why people care....

I don't care per say. I just find it interesting that the Republicans play off Limbaugh as nothing more than a political pundit, then find themselves bowing at his celebrity moments later.

I like Rush because more often than not he seems sensible.

Then you should prolly deal with it. I have an opinion dude, live with it.

How am I not living with it? Did I somehow attempt to inhibit your ability to give said opinion?

Get over yourself and stop being so defensive. It would do you well around these boards.

I was saying live with there not being enough of that particular emoticon. I was only being defensive due to your offensive strike at my opinion.

This -> isn't an offensive thing

So when it was used with the previous post, how exactly did you think it meant to be taken? What do you think he meant with the post?

If I were to wager a guess, it's not so much that people care--I know that I really don't give two craps about the man anyway, but I think the people in charge of the Republican party is so ancient and so behind the times that they still think that Rush is an asset rather than a liability.

Well, and sometimes we will listen to someone that agrees with us, no matter how obnoxious, or how much of a jack ass they are.

Since I can go only by Carcharodon's post and not his thoughts since I'm a human that lacks the ability to read another person's mind or thoughts, I can only guess that he thought Hush's comment about Rush being "sensible more often than not" was ridiculous. Instead of using a facepalm or a rolling of the eyes, he used the blank face. That doesn't mean that he thinks Hush is ridiculous as an individual.

What a person says and and the actual person are 2 distinct things. A snide comment directed at one doesn't automatically include the other.

Well, then you got what I was getting at.....no matter what emoticon is used, whether one is used or not.....doesn't really matter....we can't reach through the screen and see faces, hear voices etc, so we don't know if that particular emoticon is being used as a snide representation or not. People's perception is their truth, no matter if they got completely what was actually meant or not.

:o Hell this one means embarrassment, but it is rarely used for that. The one he spoke of before has in many instances been used as a small slight. So when you say there aren't enough......well theres no reason really for it to be taken as a positive thing. :yay:

But since Carcharodon quoted the post of Hush's and made a comment specifically about Hush's post, it's completely logical to say "The comment was referring to what Hush said, not Hush as a person".

no...no.....no, don't try that one. People use that all the time as an excuse, my opinion, is very much a part of who I am....so people are going to take that as a slight, no matter if you say....

I was saying your opinion is dumb, not you.......*sighs* doesn't work.

Now, in this case I don't think its that big of a deal.....Car, could have just said I disagree, and that was it.....but still not a big deal. But, I'm also going to understand how the other poster took it as a slight. I would let them take care of it, which it looks like they did, which is cool........
