He's doing things differently than the last 233 years.

Please tell me that you haven't jumped on the 'Obama Anti-Christ' bandwagon?

President Obama is not going to destroy this country. He is not going to turn this country into a socialist country. Or a communist country. Anyone suggesting this really needs to wake up.

Nope, just Obama is doing things different than any president before him, even the good ones.

Just because he might be doing things differently doesn't automatically equal failure. Just as it doesn't automatically equal success. Everyone should, at least, be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Let's at least let him try this new approach before we start screaming the sky is falling.

If you are seeing the sky fall, and people around you are denying it, does that make the Sky falling stop?

This is the same argument people make for Global Warming. "What if we are wrong? At least its good that we don't pollute, right?"

History shows that this won't work. History shows this will end in Failure.

There is an entire thread to debate global warming...maybe we can discuss that in there. :cwink:

Global Warming is just an example. It's the excuse I'm talking about, the same people that deny that this country is in peril, are the ones that keep the Government Chugg'n along.

This is exactly what they were saying in the UK before it turned into the Nanny State

No one can deny that this country is in serious trouble.

But this "Give'm a chance" Attitude doesn't help.

I mean how many Liberals secretly hoped the US fail in Iraq? Be honest.

So if people didn't agree with the US sending troops to Iraq, and when the military went they wanted the military to provide their forces with decent body armor and enough of it as well as properly armored vehicles, they wanted the military bases to have properly installed wiring so a soldier isn't electrocuted while taking a shower, and when a soldier got wounded they wanted the facilities at the stateside hospitals (specifically Walter Reed) to be sanitary with running water and properly maintained heating and air, and saying that the military is being stretched close to the breaking point when they are serving multiple tours of duty without enough leave in between tours, that person wants the troops to fail?

I would say that the person who doesn't want those issues to be addressed and fixed is the one who wants the troops to fail

But this "Give'm a chance" Attitude doesn't help.

Ok SuBe. What is the alternative then? Do nothing!?!?! Give me a break. You can't tell me that you believe that is a reasonable or responsible action to take.

You know what, I join John Stewart in saying get off of Rush's back, obviously this man is a brilliant man of impecible intelligence, humility and restraint, who deserves to be the voice of his party. I mean for starters he's so brilliant even his own mother didn't understand him, saying "he failed at everything" in school. Obviously this is a man of incredible tenacity.

I mean just look at him, truly this is a self-made man, a picture of robust health and intelligence. He completely believes in his party and their ideals.

Supporting our troops? Of course he supports our troops. He even was gracious enough to his listeners to point out which one of our servicemen were in fact "phony soldiers". Oh, and guess what, it was the soldiers who disagreed with the Iraq war. Who'd have thunk for a minute that all the soldiers who would dare question our purpose in that country were in fact completely faking their love of our country and their willingness to die for it. Thank you Rush.

Personal responsibility, he's got that in spades. For one he's so completely brilliant he failed every class he ever attempted, except for radio of course. That certainly indicates to me he knows so much about the world as to tell us how we should live. But his brilliance came with a price, he needed to take incredible amounts of drugs to bring himself down from his tower down to our level, our very low and diminished level...comparative to Rush.

So thank you Rush, thank you for pointing out Michael J. Fox was a fraud, that feminist were ugly, that Democrats were really in fact connected to al-queda. Thank you for draft dodging, so your talents would not be wasted fighting for your country in Vietnam. Thank you for pointing out to me that Barack Obama was a "magic negro", because I agree magic has no place in the White House. Even better that you put it to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon" so I could pass that little gem of wisdom onto my children.

Who could question the integrity of a man who said he wanted to restart the Chicago riots of 1968. Seriously, who? I say who? So lay off Limbaugh, he's a true American hero.

Obama was right in that only Government can solve this mess, he was wrong on the implementation. We need the Government to GET OUT OF THE WAY. Cut Taxes, Cut Capital Gains, Cut Individual Taxes, Cut Corporate Taxes, Cut Fees for Buiness Licenses. Make it EASIER to create Jobs. Make it EASIER to pay down Debts, from the Corporate Viewpoint AND the Individual viewpoint. Don't Spend, spend, spend. You CANNOT spend your way to Savings. If it doesn't work at home, how the hell do we thing it is going to work in Washington?

If you really think this would work, Borrow as much as you can, 5 times more than you need, and just pay off all your debts, and all the debts of your two neighbors. Then see how easy it is to get out of that hole.

I have never said that Dox. (And you know it.) I believe in giving the President the benefit of the doubt. As I said, as much as I hated Bush, I never wished for him to fail. The last eight years have not worked. We need to try something new. I am not all gung-ho on all of Obama's policies but I can at least appreciate the fact that he wants to do things differently from the last eight years.

I'm not going to even comment on your scenario because it's ridiculous.
I don't see any difference between "if you want the president to fail, therefore you want America to fail" to "you are with us or against us".

I am not against the goals but the means to the goals are the problem. It is not a matter of this needs to fail (as Limbaugh seem to claim), to me most of this is going to fail whether I want it to or not, because this is nothing new. And that's the problem, there is absolutely nothing new with what Obama is doing. A New Deal sequel, touch of LBJ there, and bailing out the companies which Bush has done as well.

If you have a problem with Bush's economic policy being retreads, then you should have a problem with Obama as well.

I never listened to Limbaugh before btw.

This is the only Rush worth listening to

I'm still amazed by how Republican politians crawl and gravel for forgiveness of the great Boss Limbaugh.

I mean, ****...Steele didn't say anything out of line, and he had to apologize and has been banished into the Phantom Zone.

Was that the real line? Or was it photoshoped?

Because it seems Spot on with JJ.

Man, I should really look up the old 70's comics.....one panel seems to have more cultural relevance today, than most of what I find on comic shevles today.

I would say that the Republican who knocks Limbaugh and DOESN'T apologize will be the one who becomes the leader of the party.

lol, it'll be like those bad 80's teen flicks where challenging your teacher WAS the real test, therefore the student passes the test and goes on to college.

I don't see anyone doing it, honestly.

I've seen too many Republican politicians, keyword is politicians...not just talking heads, but dudes who have some power, just refusing to say anything bad about Rush.

David Shuster, on the MSNBC show 1600 Pennslyvania Avenue, has tried this whole week to get every Republican politician to just say, "Rush was wrong". Not a single one bites. Not a single one wants to.

It's....strange. People with supposed "power" fearing a man who's on the radio, who'd one would say at face value...has no power. Apparently, he does.

Rush Redux. A Countdown look at the new leader of the Republican party.

Some very funny quotes from the man, so...give the video a chance you conservatives, because I imagine it should be even funny to you.

I honestly cannot stop laughing at Rush "shaking" when he's accusing Michael J. Fox faking his parkinson's disease.
