The Rush Limbaugh Thread

He'll probably buy it, but it will be interesting to see what his player line up ends up appearing as.

"I actually thank God for my addiction," he said. "I learned more about myself in rehab than I would have ever learned otherwise."

Too bad he hasn't learned yet that he's a subhuman *****ebag and a piece of ****.

:hehe: Or maybe he has and doesn't give a ****.

Players would play for him though...they played for Marge Schott and she was about as much of a racist as Rush is.

I really don't see how anyone can defend Limbaugh and his racial bigotry. One more reason why we're the most backwards country on earth.

I will not defend Limbaugh or his bigotry. But I will defend his right to attempt to buy a business. I don't think he should be voted down because of what he said, it is a slap in the face to free speech to black ball him because he runs his mouth.

...at the same time, his comments are incredibly offensive to the players that he would oversee.

Perhaps. There's never been a character test to buy an NFL team or any other pro team, but who will lose sleep over it if Limbaugh does or not

Well hopefully, if Rush does buy the team, everybody boycotts them and the Rams go bankrupt.

Then it will be their choice not to work for him. But he shouldn't be discriminated against when trying to purchase just because he is offensive. If that is done, they become no better than what they accuse him of being.

Nor will I, but it starts with Limbaugh not being able to buy an NFL team, then it becomes the KKK not being allowed to rally, then it becomes peaceful protestors not being able to rally. I just feel that our society should never accept a first amendment violation due to the slippery slope it creates.

Roger Goddell talks about Rush:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...sh-divisive-comments-are-not-what-nfls-about/

This afternoon in Boston, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell chipped in with a "fat friggin' chance" (our words, not Goodell's) when asked about Rush Limbaugh's prospects of being part of an ownership group trying to purchase the St. Louis Rams.

Speaking in a press conference in a South Boston hotel, Goodell first referred to the purchase process saying it was still in the preliminary stages.

"At this point in time we'll continue our process which is to allow the Rams to decide if they're going to sell and who they'll sell to," Goodell said. "And then at some point, the NFL will be engaged and we'll [examine] whatever ownership group is put forth through our process [of vetting the group]."

Asked if he had any response to the surge in player opposition to Limbaugh's potentially becoming an owner, Goodell said, "The comments that Rush made about Donovan [McNabb] I disagree with very strongly. [They were] polarizing comments that we don't think reflect accurately on the NFL or our players and I obviously do not believe that those comments are positive and are divisive. I disagree with those comments very strongly and I've told the players that."

Goodell was asked what his reaction would be if a present owner aired commentary like Limbaugh's. Would he then have an issue?

"We're all held to a high standard here and divisive comments are not what the NFL's all about," said Goodell. "I would not want to see those kind of comments from people who are in a responsible position in the NFL, no. Absolutely not."

We'll update shortly with the commissioner's comments on Deion and "Hurricane" Tommy Cable.

I'm sure this is a headache Goodell would rather not deal with. Also, if Limbaugh were to enter the community of NFL owners, he would quickly find he would not be surrounded by the yes men he is used to.

Best case scenario would be his attempts to buy the Rams would lead to him having some sort of breakdown and finally getting his well deserved comeuppance.

Spend just 5 minutes researching. The guy is just short of a David Duke type.

^ For one he plays a song at the beginning of his show called "Barack the Magic Negro".

Wait a minute what did Rush Limbaugh say that was racist.

When you do, please note the first few things you'll find are the most egregious and seem to be completely fabricated. There are other statements you can find, but the popular ones that always get dredged up are bogus.

The MLB players union is the reason why there's no salary cap in baseball, and why there was no policy against steroid usage for years.

And why the Yanks always on top every year cause they have money to spend on players.

But again, it shouldn't matter if he is the most racist son of a ***** on Earth. If he wants to buy a business, he ought to be able to. This form of censorship disturbs me.

Like Barack the Magic Negro? Or the McNabb comments? Or his "jokes" about the slave trade? I have little respect for anyone who tries to defend this guy. Fortunately, Rush spurts of some stupid comments that usually shames those people for speaking up for him within a couple days.

So, you're saying the black players should be forced to work for a racist and they have no say in the matter?

It's not censorship. It's an Old Boys Club. A private business where they can let whoever they want into it.

Fortunately, I think Mr. "I'm just an Entertainer" has entertained enough Racists with his comments that he poisoned this deal from the get go.

I'm proud that a lot of Black Players have gotten "uppity" about saying they won't play for or against this team if he is a part of it.

They can always walk from the team or refuse to sign with the Rams. No one is holding them at gun point.

Of course its censorship. "We don't like what you say so we're black balling you."

Censorship would be them stopping him from speaking. They're not. They're refusing to sell him a product. In this case a seat at the table.
