Most of the people in office are attorneys by trade...one of the most disgusting and sleazy jobs there is. And the people who work for the parties and help out on campaigns are, in my opinion, dupes who are wasting their time with a country that is dying and a process that is hopelessly corrupt and basically evil. Politics is for *******s and that's what it makes people who take part in it into-*******s. Politics and government itself is a necessary evil at best, and people in politics make me sick. All of them.
One thing my mom taught me a long time ago was, if you see a problem, and all you do is B***h about it...and you take no steps to try and be a part of the solution. If you are not passionate enough of a person to try and be a part of the solution, then you have absolutely no right to say a word. But, if you try and be a part of the solution, and you make a difference, then you have done a great thing. If you try and be a part of the solution, but it just wasn't enough, you can take pride in the fact that you didn't sit by and do nothing but run your mouth. She saw people that just griped about something, and never did anything as the people on the street corner shouting about hell and damnation, yet never held out a hand to the man beside them going hungry. That man dies, and the person yelling is still yelling and nothing is changing. Had he just stopped for a moment, and helped one person...a life could have been changed.
People that only b***h become the boy who cried wolf, and people stop listening, and people stop caring about what they have to say, and they live their lives as people that could have been __________________, done ________________________, but end up living lives that are as empty as those blanks.
She was the smartest woman I've ever known, and probably will ever know. Its a lesson that totally changed my life, I'm glad she thought it important enough to make sure I learned it. My voice isn't always heard, my solutions are not always used, sometimes I'm ignored...but I have just as much to show because of my voice, and my desire to make changes...and it makes for a very content and happy life. I've worked campaigns, I've been energized by some and disappointed by others...but if our forefathers lived by the creed that...once they were disappointed they STOPPED....we would have been screwed.
