With the ongoing concern over roster depth within WWE and Vince McMahon’s concerns over the WrestleMania XXX card, plus CM Punk’s future being up in the air, there is a renewed interest in bringing back Rob Van Dam and Chris Jericho.

It was recently reported that Jericho wouldn’t be returning due to creative issues and that Van Dam was expected back in time for WrestleMania. Now word is they want Jericho back also.

A match with RVD vs. Jericho was pitched at a recent creative meeting but is not even close to being locked in at this point.

The sad part about that news above is that if the roster was better utilized and feuds were better written, they wouldn't need to be clamoring for a RVD/Jericho match. And honestly, if both of them are in matches, it shouldn't be against each other. That's a 2004 match, not a 2014 match.

Maybe if WWE weren't screwing their rising talent over constantly, they wouldn't be having "Roster Depth" issues. Have they ever considered that?

Good or bad?

I like the image composition, it just reminds me of the cult image of him that's used quite frequently 'tis all.

That sort of image composition may have possibly been a good suit for Reigns once he goes solo and starts getting merchandise.

I want Reigns to continue calling himself the hound of justice once he goes face.

PWInsider.com is reporting that CM Punk may have been released from his WWE contract last week. It says that while this is unconfirmed, this is the belief being held by many within the company.

According to the report, the topic was the backstage chatter during this past weekend’s house shows. It was said that despite him still being listed on the official company website still, he was as good as “done” with the company. He was reportedly released last Friday.

If this is true, it brings the end to a saga that has been raging since Jan. 27, the night after the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Punk walked out on the company just before “Monday Night Raw” and said he was going home. He has not been mentioned on WWE television since the incident, and plans for him to face Triple H at WrestleMania 30 were called off.

Prior to leaving the company, Punk went into detail about his expiring contract. He made note that it was due up in July of this year, and gave no indication as to what he would be doing next. He said he was basically “out the door” when his contract last expired in 2011, but things changed as did his mind.

He has also kept a low-profile since the incident, and hasn’t made any comment. However, he was spotted recently picking up his real-life girlfriend AJ Lee from the airport.

Stay with Wrestling Rumors for more as information becomes available.

Punk is pretty badly broken down for his age. Maybe TNA could offer him a lucrative contract and give him the World Title on his first night? :o

nah.

Punk just has to show up in TNA, stand on the ramp, and point. :o

EXCLUSIVE

An American billionaire is interested in buying Newcastle.

Winner Sports can exclusively reveal wrestling promoter Vince McMahon has expressed an initial interest in buying the crisis club from Mike Ashley.

No official bids have yet been made and tentative talks are at a very early stage. But McMahon wants to expend his empire and is keen to buy a Premier League club.

He was recently valued at $1.1billion and is well known in the States as a wrestling promoter, announcer, commentator and occasional professional wrestler He is also an actor and film producer. Yet he wants to expand his sporting interests and is a fan of English football.

He is the chairman and chief executive of Connecut-based World Wrestling Entertainment. For a long period he was the only remaining major American professional promoter which is where he has earned much of his money.

He is also a two time world wrestling champion having won the WWF and ECW World championships.

McMahon is a larger than life character and is known by the ring name Mr McMahon based on his real life persona.

Ashley want to sell Newcastle and has been in talks with several American companies. Yet McMahon’s interest looks like it could go further than the initial talks.

A top Newcastle source told Winner Sports: “Vince McMahon has been sniffing around the club and seems keen on pursuing his interest.

“He sees England as an untapped market for his wrestling empire. He has even indicated he could put on wrestling bouts at St James’s Park

“Obviously it is very early days but there is hope the fans may get what they want with Ashley leaving. Buying a club like Newcastle would throw him into the spotlight in England which is just what he is looking to do.”

I would be surprised if WWE debut's the trailer before Chris Pratt does it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tomorrow night.

So I wonder if Bryan's shirts are being designed like Che Guevara then does that mean Bryan will overthrow Batista like he did? :o

I actually feel sorry for AJ, to CM Punk, she's just the flavor of the year to her. He's gonna end up finding somebody else. You just wait and see.

He hooked up with Maria, Beth, Lita, AND Lee. He's in The Player's Club with Batista and Orton.

Guerrero Vs. Test was a European title match. Van Dam vs Regal was a thrown together match that was okay. Regal vs Jericho maybe should be there, but that's still only seven.

Ah, yes. My mistake. Jericho Vs. Regal wasn't as good as it should've been due to Regal having an injured foot or something like that.

They probably won't debut it, but I could see them promoting it's debut tomorrow, and then promoting it some more after it's hit.

Michael Cole: Let's take a look at the trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy, starring David Batista and a few other people. But Batista is the huge star of this film!
Jerry Lawler: No doubt and if he appears in Avengers 3, he will be the huge star of that film too!

An then he'll crossover to the DC universe and steal the spotlight from Bats and Supes. :o

Well he ended up getting executed, so I don't think that bodes well for D-Bry. :o

http://www.examiner.com/article/wwe-source-says-cm-punk-considering-chicago-raw-return-next-week

A trusted source within the WWE community spoke exclusively with WWE Examiner on Monday and revealed that CM Punk (real name Phillip Brooks) may return to Monday Night Raw on the March 3rd edition of the long-running flagship WWE program, which originates from the superstar's hometown of Chicago, Illinois on that occasion.

The source in question - the same individual who was the first to correctly report Hulk Hogan's return to WWE Examiner - says nothing is set in stone, but that Punk is not "totally against" appearing at the March broadcast, setting up a new feud that will enable the Chicago grappler to appear at WrestleMania XXX the following month.

Although the source maintains that the CM Punk "walk off" angle is a work, Punk is legitimately tired, burned out, and in need of a protracted rest. Nonetheless, the Straight Edge Superstar is a smart businessman. And it's believed - but not confirmed - that Punk is working directly with Vince McMahon on possible scenarios for a temporary comeback before taking a longer break.

The WWE absolutely needs CM Punk at this point, particularly with next week's launch of the WWE Network. With DISH Network believed to be pulling the plug on WWE Pay-Per-Views, the company needs all hands on deck and all eyes on their product, something much more likely to happen if CM Punk is still appearing on WWE programming.

"There's disappointment and frustration, but no ill-will or bad blood," the source says of CM Punk's supposed relationship with WWE management today. "At the end of the day, Phil loves professional wrestling and I can't imagine him wanting the WWE's milestone pay-per-view [WrestleMania XXX] to take place without him on the card."

I'll believe it when I see it, but Zod help WWE if he isn't back by then.

Despite the fact that the WWE will probably make Batista the focal point of Guardians of the Galaxy, The WWE is still watched by millions globally. The WWE beating the promotion of the film down to death will help the film's box office.

One report says Punk might have been released, another says he might return March 3rd, one says he might be a drunk, another says he jumped off a bridge and swam to Australia to punch a cheeky kangaroo.

This is all bull these people are making up and they don't know ****. None of them know what's going on.

It reminds me of when Blade: Trinity was coming out, and how much they ****ed that out as if Triple H was one of the major stars. Going as far as to include his name with the other major starts of the movie in their version of the trailer. Hunter was even on the cover of a WWE magazine as his vampire character.

Anyone else noticed they've removed the RKO spot at Mania with Punk from Orton's titantron now?

If this is a work they're really going all out to make it look legit, seeing as they've also removed him from the signature, and on one of the Network adverts they removed a shot of him walking down the ramp in slow-mo with one of Rock.
