Oh oh...

Did your coach also have a southern accent and talk really fast for no reason at times? And by fast...like he was mumbling fast at times. I love his 'Give me 10 push ups.' He'll say it like fast mumbling paced. He was at ECU for a few seasons coaching...assistant I think. Been in here as weight lifting coach/baseball/football coach for LONG time.

No my coach had bad coffee breath 24/7 and talked out of the side of his mouth. He was a good basketball coach who just happened to coach football as well. He thought that because nobody was running the single wing offense, we would somehow be innovative and successful running it. Nobody has used it since the 50s or 60s....there is probably a reason.

I, of course, tried to convince him that west coast offense/pass first offense is where its at. We had a small team, so we wouldnt be running through any defenses anyways. The way to success for a small team is a pass first offense. He disagreed, despite me showing him proof.

He and I were always at odds. We had a "disagreement" during basketball practice the day before state playoffs and he told me that if I didnt apologize in front of the team, I wouldnt be going to state. I didnt, and sure enough, I didnt go with the team. He also made sure I didnt get my basketball letter because of this.

(yes, still mad)

The next year, he was fired and a new coach came and ran a.......drumroll.....pass first offense! Wow, what a novel idea. In doing so, they got twice as many wins and about 10x as many points for the season. Imagine that!


But, back on topic....give me 20 burpees.
