The Sorority Row Trailer

I'll probably catch this on cable or rent it instead. Doesn't look too bad I guess, but not something I'd pay to see in the theaters. I certainly wouldn't drop $7.75 for a matinee showing of it (which is what matinees at my theater now cost, a whole dollar more :o).

Yeah, the dialogue on the trailer is absolutely atrocious; I know they're trying to be campy, but it's not funny.

This looks ok, just looks like a fairly standard slasher flick; the trailer looks like they practically copied and pasted I Know What You Did Last Summers plot though, the killer even appears to be dressed the same.

I've seen the original, but don't really remember a damn thing about it.
In a prank against the housemother gone wrong, there's accidentally a 'death'" They decide to weight the body down and hide it in the algae covered pool next to the sorority house. Some people get killed, and it's soon found out the 'dead' person isn't dead. Then at the end it gets crazy and totally out-there in terms of what the story looked like it was supposed to be about.

This movie already sucked 12 years ago when it was called I Know What You Did Last Summer. :down

Oh you mean the movie that was loosely adapted on the novel from 1973?

And this is a remake of a movie from 1983, not a rip-off of the novel or movie.

Sorry if all Dead Teenager Movies start to blend together after a while. They're all pretty much on the same level of suck.

This movie will be crap for sure, but it'll probably be a lot of fun. Briana Evigan is so hot that I actually sat through several minutes of Step Up 2 the Streets just to watch her bump and grind. I remember seeing her on a "Next" episode on MTV a few years back. She actually seemed like a semi-cool person.

There's a cruel joke hidden somewhere in the fact that this flick and Tyler Perry's latest both open on 9/11.

The universe has a perverse sense of humor.

And really, honestly...all of these movies are always the same. So you guys can point out the fact that this is a remake until you're blue in the face, but it's the same thing as My Bloody Valentine (and MBV 3D), Valentine, Prom Night, F13, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Black Christmas (original and remake), Halloween, Sleepaway Camp, The Collector, Silent Night Deadly Night, Scream (sort of), When A Stranger Calls, Dr. Giggles, Candyman, Childs Play, Leprechaun...well you get the picture.

To say Scream is only sort of the same, when it has more in common with this movie than Candyman, Child's Play or the Leprechaun movies, pretty much concvinces me you just don't care much for horror movies, and makes me wonder why you even bother to come in the thread.

Yeah, you can have a negative opinion on a movie, I'm not saying only only posters who post positive things are allowed, but by this post alone, you don't seem to know what you're talking about.

I guess he just thinks all horror movies are the same. And just wants to come in here to force his opinions on people. whether they like it or not. Cause their gonna say something whether you like it or not, cause that's what a "critic" does.

I still think I'll probably see this in the theaters. Just looks like it could be a fun horror film.

Or he just wants to ****ing discuss the movie. Holy **** you people are nuts.

EVERYONE HAS AN OPINION, and YOU BETTER GET OVER THE FACT THAT YOU MIGHT NOT ALWAYS AGREE!

I'm curious to see this one because of the hot babes in it with the exception of Rumor Willis, maybe I'll pay for one movie and sneak in to see this one.

Interesting how you only paid attention to TAC's post and not mine, though both disagreed with the poster who dislikes the movie already.

Video: Watch All 7 Clips From 'Sorority Row'

Holy crap, I'm updating from a plane! Welcome to the future. Anyways, good ol' BC just uploaded all seven clips from Summit Entertainment's Sorority Row, a 90's homage movie directed by Stewart Hendler. Arriving in theaters September 11, the film starring Briana Evigan, Rumer Willis, Audrina Patridge, Carrie Fisher, Julian Morris, Leah Pipes, Margo Harshman, Jamie Chung, Matt O'Leary and Caroline D'Amore is a remake of The House on Sorority Row.

I know. But i'm totally riding JAL's, and his possie's ass. I'm just so sick of this "If you dont like it, dont talk" attitude thats going around. Smugness or not.

lol whenever i see a trailer i think of "i know what you did last summer" COLLEGE EDITION

I didn't say all horror films. I said virtually all crappy Dead Teenager Movie's (slasher films) are the same. There are some truly great ones like the original Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Devil's Rejects and whatnot, but for the most part slasher flicks are just as formulaic and trite as any generic rom-com. And the reason why they're all the same (and why they're all generally dreck) is because like those rom-coms they're expedited assembly line flicks that studios churn out to make a quick buck in between big movie seasons. I love a lot of horror movies, and I believe horror movies can be truly great works of art. But The Collector and I Know What You Did Last Summer are not the same as a Cronenberg film, or Don't Look Now, or Rosemary's Baby, or The Orphanage. The latter are genuinely, deeply frightening movies. The former are boring and cheap and only have value for teenagers looking to get some tongue (and boob if they're lucky) from their date.

Wow, head up ass much?
If pointing out that the majority of slasher flicks are generic and stupid means that I have my head up my ass then yes. But then that would mean that most smart people with taste have their heads up their asses as well.

Also, I'm the first one to defend a movie like this years "Orphan", which was so bad and campy that it was hilariously entertaining, but most slasher flicks don't achieve that status.

Most horror films do suck. That is a fact and they all do start to become the same generic predictable pieces of **** that has been going on for years. They never changed except a rare gem out of a pile of **** which hasn't happened since Scream. But there are probably other good horror films that I haven't seen. Anyone name me a good one from this decade?

I have to agree with Sarge2.0 on this. Most if not all slasher flicks follow a simple and cliche formula almost everytime. Maybe it's because I grew up in the 80's watching a lot of them but I've been burned out and once again have to agree with Sarge2.0 that they don't ever really offer anything new.

The only thing I have to disagre with him on is from his initial post from the previous page, I don't agree about Candyman. That might just be a bit of bias on my part since I'm a huge Clive Barker fan but that film I don't compare or put in the same category as your typical slasher flicks.

Also very true. Except I never cared for Scream and didn't think it was as great or original as so many other people did at the time it came out. I would name a few horror films I liked that came out this decade but don't care to start an possible argument with people on which horror films are good or suck. I want to try to keep things civil hehehe.
