Honestly unless the actor is going to spend all the movie shirtless. They can make the suit look bigger then it is. There is no point for the actor to get to a size that won't show up or can be easily made up. This is why the TFA/TWS/AOU suits all work. They make Evans look much bigger.

Now as for the cowl. The problem here is that without it, Evan's rocks the suit very well. I think his head has a much better hero look then they could ever make the cowl. Even in the comics the cowl less suit works.

The problem with that is that Evans has gone on record stating that body weight and muscle from TFA wasn't good for him, physically; he strained and injured himself quite a bit to get into that bulky shape. And that would've hindered his physicality for TWS.

I like him with the gymnast build. If it allows him to do more stunt work and move like comics Cap, I'm all for that over bulk.

And Cap without his mask = Let Chris' face shine!!!

Agreed. I think Cap's physique in Avengers and TWS looked better overall for Captain America.

LOL! I do agree he did have the perfect physique for Steve/Cap in TWS. Also considering Evans is 6' tall, I'm guessing he weighed around 190lbs -200lbs during the filming of TWS.

I hadn't noticed it but the new suit has captain bars on the pants. Very noticeable in the gif of him kicking the door in. I knew they put captain bars on TA suit so it's nice to see they're continuing it in AoU.

It's possible. However it just seems that the costume design didn't put much though into it. since his back is usually covered with his Shield.

And in Steve's case, it's making him see "what could have been" if he hand's crashed that plane into the ice, and then making him experience his worst fears.

It's possible will know for sure May 1st. Till then all we can do is speculate

Chris Evans has the perfect body for Captain America. A lot of fans wanted to see a thickly-muscled, heavyset actor with ridiculously roided-out muscles in the role who looks like the drawings in the comics, but that isn't realistic. Cap should be extremely fast, lithe and agile, traits that do not go with the bulkier body. Evans' physique is perfect for the hero's abilities.

I have a sinking feeling the shield being broken is going to be legit. It's going to be one of those "***** just got real!" moments.

Agreed. Cap in TWS was the epitome of fitness, not bodybuilding. And he still had plenty of muscle.
