apparently that cowl was pretty much impossible to recreate IRL
the concept art also has a leathery finish to it, and there's no way they were building a practical leather suit that he could actually move acrobatically in

otherwise, that is what we got

edit: oh wait, it seems the stripes go all the way around on the art too
if only they could've made it look just like that, would've been 100% perfect

well maybe not leather, but it has a sheen and looks thicker than what he ended up wearing
so compared to the art, the suit in the film looked a bit flimsy, it's probably why some people said it looked cosplay-ish (not that I agree)

The Commander Rogers suit featured in TWS looks good, use that cowl with an upgraded traditional Cap look and we are in business.

Ha, it was kind of a quick rushed job I did late one night. I was just trying to get the main idea down.

Whatever material they used for his TWS suit, they should have used for his Avengers suit. I think a lot less people would have complained about the look if the material had a bit more weight to it like the TWS has.

Yeah, it'll be a shame if the Winter Soldier suit ends up just being a one-off. It's probably my favourite of the costumes Captain America has worn on film, it just looks really cool on-screen, even if it's a departure from his classic look.

Yeah, it'll be a shame if the Winter Soldier suit ends up just being a one-off. It's probably my favourite of the costumes Captain America has worn on film, it just looks really cool on-screen, even if it's a departure from his classic look.

I believe The Winter Soldier stealth black-ops S.H.I.E.L.D. suit was just for the film. Cap is going back to his traditional look probably modified according to Chris Evans for Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

I really, really would be totally fine with TWS suit (with a little more red thrown in) as the basis for his AoU suit.

But mostly, I just want his apparently beastly fighting skills to carry over to AoU. Even though I haven't seen Winter Soldier *grumble grumble* I hear he's really amazing to watch.

I also think that the WS stealth suit is a one and done as that was primarily a SHIELD uniform. I just really hope he'll have some of the elements from it going forward, same helmet and the construction, especially.

Yeah, there's a plot reason for him dropping the uniform that means it would sadly make little sense for him to wear it again in future films.

Still, despite [BLACKOUT]S.H.I.E.L.D. going bye-bye[/BLACKOUT], Marvel could still use elements of the suit going forward.

Since we got pretty close renditions of his suit in past films im ok with the new suit not looking exactly like his comic look. I dont need the the red boots and glives or the red and white stripes around his waist. All i need is some more red that is more obvious and im cool with it.

Watched Avengers the other day. Looking back, I really, really dislike Cap's costume. Hate the design and the material. He just stands out like a sore thumb... and not in a good way

I just watched Avengers a couple of days ago also. And it reminded me how I really, really love the design. lol. Especially with the mask off and during the whole helicarrier scene. It looks great to me, other than the back and the mask(somewhat). Just goes to show that everybody has different opinions.

I think it's just the pants... Also, I don't think the boots have to be necessarily red.

So going by set footage in Korea it looks like Cap will be wearing a suit similar to the WS stealth suit.
