Iron Man The Suit!!!!! [Mark III-Red and Gold Awesomeness]

you may wanna be a bit careful with the footage... youtube could take it down at the request of iesb at any time.

anyways, I'm very impressed with how this looks, and I don't consider myself an Iron man fan at all.

This has actually sparked my interest in Iron Man.

But that WASN'T THE KIRBY/ LEE X-MEN that they gave us in the movies. If they woudl've started the series with those first five (Cyclops, Angel, Beast, Marvel girl, Ice-Man) and had them in uniformed suits then it's okay, which by the way was BLACK AND YELLOW, so you would've got your "yellow Spandex" in the movie anyway.

But even that group eentually "graduated" to there own indivual look.

The movies we got was the Len Wein/ Chris Claremont version of the X-Men that NEVER wore any uniformed look from day one!

Again, typical fanboy thing, all attention to details, nothing to the essence. The uniforms were given to give the X-Men a sense of being a team, given that they´re all under the wing of Professor X, it makes sense that they wear an uniform. And yellow is a color that should NEVER make it to the big screen, small screen, comic books, TV shows, ANYWHERE. Yellow is the poor cousin of all colors in the spectrum.

i have to disagree with that... you put the right shade of yellow, and it can be successful on screen. The Iron Man suit shows that possibility, because it's more of a gold yellow instead of a primary yellow, but it's still yellow all the same.

It may not be as bright as it is in the comics, but it still carries that overall bright feel to it.

Guys NO MORE with this discussion, ive said it 3 times now

you know as I look at these pics, I can't help but wonder:
do you think that the first pic has more of a mysterious look to it?

The armor is perfect. It could never have been any better, and we all know it.

The thing that impresses me the most, is that it actually looks functional, while it also seems to have some hidden stuff (arms, above the knees and in the feet). I also just love that there is some visible hydraulics in the shoulders.

I had feared it would look too clumpy, but I was ofc very wrong.

I concur. The visible hydraulics are one of those little details that make it look that much more "real". I want to know what's hidden under those huge plates going from his shoulder pads to his neck. Could be purely aesthetic though.

yeah the same about the lids right above his knee joints. could be ventialtion or just nothing at all.

but he has blasters and stuff in his boots and gloves, no doubt.

Thanks for that Soulgem. I was thinking shoulder missle launchers ala War Machine as well. Pew Pew.

well it could just as well have been a "FWWOOOSH" for a wrist-size rocket launcher.

It's a term usually used to signify the sound of lasers or futuristic guns. Because the actual sound they make is "piiuu" when fired.
lol, okay, that's cool... I thought it was some weird weapon of something

I was just gonna say the shoulder mounted rocket launchers would be Fwooosh Fwooosh. I'm not sure what a Repulsor would sound like though.

Whoa, I didn't put it there, I just FOUND it there. And damn iesb and their watermarks, I'm happy that the guy cropped that damn logo off.

oh, ok... whoever it was, I hope they're careful.

I didnt mention repulsors on the pic, and I have no idea how they sound. Let's check the orignial source...

---
What I see is that the repulsors many times simply don't make any sound. In the comics, and in particular later IM and Avenger issues, the sound of the repulsors seem to be drowning in the sound of the impact or the explosion that follows (for instance, Iron Man shooting on Mandarins ships powercore in Iron Man vol 3, #10. No sound from repulsors, but powercore goes "SHRAMM").

Repuslor sounds
Weast Coast Avengers:
Vol 1, #4 - "ZZAK"
Vol 2, #58 - "VPUM" (!)

Avengers:
Vol 1, #327 - "SHOOP SHOOP"

What If..:
Vol 2, #55 - "SKOOM"

Iron Man:
Vol 1, #34 - "ZHZHZH"
Vol 1, #251 - "SHRAK"
Annual 11 - "SHRAKK"

I just noticed something.

Doesn't this armor,

look a lot bulkier than this picture?
