Comics The Thunderbolts Thread

I agree. The Choosing Sides mini completely sold me on Gargan as Venom. If Brock never returns, i wont mind one bit.

Im really hoping Peter and Norman's respective new teams end up facing off as well. That'd be sweet!. :word:

Oh dear lord yes, that would be amazing.

The funny thing is, I think it all depends on situation.

I hated even the slightest idea of Peter being an Avenger, being a loner is part of his essence, (although I can understand of a part of him would want to give the Avengers a try, he's only human after.) But I like him on a team of on the run, wanted, street-level outlaws. It makes sense in this situation, he needs all the help he can get now.

And although a large part of me thinks that the unmasking was taking things a bit too far, and an obivous shock tactic, all the extra twists that are occurring in the stories due to his unmasking are actually keeping me on my toes! I genuinely don't know what will happen next, and that's brilliant.

Marvel have radicalised their universe universe, and with the given situation, it makes sense, and is pretty cool that Spidey is on his team, and Gargan-Venom is on his team. A throw down would be damn cool, especially if Yu drew it

I love the new Thunderbolts, I think they're the best roster ever. Loved the screaming Captain America doll

Anyone check out #111 yet?

It opens up with Osborn continuing his interviews with the individual members, in this case, Songbird, then goes right into the team's attempt at taking Jack Flagg down, in a very intense and violent manner. Some cool Venom/Gargan and Bullseye moments, which is what i was hoping for.

So far, so good. :word:

I've gotta wait to get this one until next week...but I cannot wait!

Um, i just have one question, the thunderbolts were being used as government agents during the civil war but Tony Starks promised as soon as they served their purpose ( capturing the anti-reg heroes), they would be sent to jail. So does this new on-going title mean that the government let norman and all them free or did they just escape before the government could capture them and jail them?

No, they're still under government control. SHIELD is using them to wrap up un-registered heroes. The older members were pardoned after their last adventure, and the newer members like Bullseye and Gargan were promised a huge cash settlement and an eventual pardoning after two years (iirc) service...

Osborn is pretty much waving those pardons under all their noses at the moment.

Anyway; Jack Flagg put up a very decent fight.....for a bit. :yay:

Wow, i agree that everybody deserves a second chance but damn, how could people like the scorpion and NORMAN OSBORN ever get a pardon after all the casualties they've caused? And the heroes are the ones getting punished. The hypocrisy of our democracy man.

I'm definitely pleased that I took a chance on this title. I really like this book a whole lot. In # 110 the part with Osborn and Bullseye was worth the price of admission alone. And the whole Jack Flagg part was a really nice touch, but Bullseye is definitely one sick mofo. I feel HORRIBLE for Flagg. Whew.

But how about that ending of # 111? Osborn have a thing for Spider-Man, eh? Haha. Just a little bit!

HEROES BEING HUNTED AS CRIMINALS AND VILLANS BEING USED AS FEDERAL AGENTS BAH
:ninja: thats one reason i don't like the civil war storyline

Really? I found it to be an interesting twist on the status quo...

DANG RIGHT!

I had never heard of or read any of the Thunderbolts mag until its Civil War crossover. I liked the idea...but I stopped reading after #105 and I probably should have read the next arc, but thanks to Wikipedia, I was brought up to speed on what happened.

That said, when I read that a sort of "relaunch" was happening in #110 and it was being written by Ellis, I had to pick it up. It instantly became one of my favorites.

Both #110 and #111 are great reads. I would like a bit of an explanation of how Osborn got to command the team. Last time I saw him, in Frontline, he was half crazy and said people were controlling him. So what's up?

The end of #111 is a very obvious foreshadowing of something big to come. One thing I don't understand:
What's up with Scarlet Spider? When did he show up again? And who is his alter ego this time?

I simply love this book!

He didnt show up...he was just on a list of potential targets for the T-Bolts to apprehend, leading me to belive that the government isnt aware of his demise...

Well, Osborn is certainly aware of the Scarlet Spider's demise.

I will read the two issues soon. I hate Brock, by the way. Love Norman. Don't know much about the rest.

Hmm... I don't know how I feel about it. Well, I didn't hate it...

I finally read #111....damn, that was good.

Liking Gargan/Venom a little more now, and Norman is on the edge...his obsession for Spider-Man is showing...and I love that. If we get to see the T-bolts vs. the New Avengers, I'll be stoked.

I'm enjoying seeing Norman try desperately to keep it together. The stress of trying not to be crazy will eventually be too much for him, of course, but it will be VERY entertaining when he goes over the edge. :gg: :bomb:

this book doesnt have enough to make me want to follow it.. i mean not really.. imight pick up the next few issues.. two arcs max to decide if these chracters are balls.

Dude, that would be an awesome battle to see. So let it be written, so it must be done.

It's GOT to happen! Dont forget: besides Peter, Norman's also got a gruge going with Luke Cage as well, from their confrontation back in The Pulse...

I was loving that Pulse storyline, until Luke Cage took GG out.
Spidey should have been responsible for what happened to GG in that storyline, Luke Cage doing it just didn't feel right.

I kind of liked seeing the status quo (Peter vs Norman...again) shook up a bit....

I like the gargan Venom idea....but I think that their should be a way for him to keep the symbiote...he really has been more intresting lately because of it
