I gotta say this was the book that started it all for me. I always loved Vampires as a kid, i was given this issue as a gift on my 11th birthday. The art and everything was killer to me. Marv Wolfman did this book justice. Anyone besides me a Tomb of Dracula Fan, and curious what was the first comic you bought or was given as a gift

There are three omnibus issues out right now and it really sucks that there's no Blade Classic Omnibus that would collect the two full runs of Blade from the 90s, the three issue miniseries that bridged them, Sins of the Father and Cresent City Blues one-shots, Blade MAX miniseries and Vol 3 and Vol 4 of The Tomb of Dracula. Those issues aren't collected anywhere but really should be. That's 32 issues of content which is good enough for an Omnibus.

Right now it's just the 70s run of Tomb of Dracula and then the mid 2000s Blade run. Most of his history simply isn't available to fans.

Tomb of Dracula is one of my favorites and one of the first books, if not THE first, that I started collecting. When I was younger, my uncle shipped out to me a box of his comics, which included Tomb of Dracula #2 with that great John Severin cover, along with the B&W magazine issues 1-3. I was hooked, especially by the timeline that the writers gave Dracula in the third B&W issue. As a huge Dracula fan, this was a book I needed.

The omnibus books are gorgeous. I finally picked up the third one at NYCCC this past October for 50 bucks. It would be great if there was a fourth one, or maybe just a standard hardcover, that collected the Dracula story from Bizarre Adventures, Giant Size Spider-man #1, the Epic Comics TOD mini, the Blade stories from Vampire Tales and the complete Montesi Formula story. But I doubt that'll happen.

It might! They did a Man-thing omnibus last year and i read it sold ok.

Would like to see original Ghost Rider, Werewolf By Night, and Monster of Frankenstein get the omnibus treatment sometime soon as well!

It would have been great if "modern" Blade were in the series from the get-go, with the amped up weapons, martial arts, etc.

Well with it Being the 70s and the method of killing a vamp was still a simple Stake thru the heart, high tech Blade was not going to happen

This was one of the first books I've started reading from it's origin thanks to the Essential line. It's awesome. I need to get the 4th volume now that I think about it.

And probably extra moody and cool looking in black & white. The old Dracula Lives and Vampire Tales magazines were in that same format, iirc.
