The Dark Knight The Video Game.

I think they should make it free-roam stealth (like the Splinter Cell engine) and use 30% of the game being the whole story of The Dark Knight with 70% being history from Batman. Like Superman Returns.

I got my new Game Informer today and it said in its rumor section that the next Batman game will probably be much different. I'm looking through it now and I cant find the exact little blurb but it was said something about it....

Well its not that hard to believe. Its no secret that many were unhappy with the game.

They're looking to turn Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns into a videogame.

I personally loved the game. I thought it was challenging in parts and overall very fun to slink around as Christian Bale's Batman and beat information out of scumbags. I loved hearing the actor voices too. I found the thing in the magazine, it says:

BATMAN DOESN'T GO TO THE MOVIES?
Tired of bad movie-liscensed games like Batman Begins, for instance? Loose Talk has heard that the caped crusader's next adventure won't be based strictly on the next Batman movie. We don't know which directions the game will go in, but chances are it'll be better than most of the Batman games that have been released.

Sweet! some news about the game! That means it is in pre-Production.

Yeah. It's ideally in the same position that Treyarch was with Spider-Man 2. Lots of time to prep and work on it.

I think EA will want to get a jumpstart, and avoid happening with TDK what happened with Superman Returns.

Btw....if you read the preview section in that issue, there's one on Superman Returns. And.....well....not sounding too good. I had hopes for that game....but, it seems like EA just needs too much time, and not enough time to get it done.

But, yeah....I mean, like I said in my previous post. Why does the game need to be based on the movie? If they're worried about marketing, just make it LOOK LIKE the movie, while the story will be something on it's own. People just need to have a Batman game out at the same time, and it'll get marketed. Doesn't have to be about the movie to sell.

Exactly. Adapting the movie into videogame format is incredibly difficult to do with such a short amount of time.

Imo, games should be started developing, the second the movie is greenlighted. That way it can still tie into the movie a little bit by sharing some plotlines, but the game will stand on its own. Then and only then can the developers actually focus on making a well-rounded game rather than following a set story.

And, even then.....after it's been green lit....there's so much red tape to cut. I mean, knowing if you can get certain likines, or secure voice talents, and get the inside knowledge on everything. It's gotta be a pain.

But, I think sequel games to sequel movies are already at an advantage. They get a jumpstart where the first one didn't, and I think it'll help here with TDK.

I like what SR is doing with their game, releasing it with the DVD. Regardless of how good that particular game is, the idea works. Giving more time for developers to work on a project can only mean there won't be any rush-jobs.

Yeah, but it's looking more and more like that isn't enough time.

EA obviously wants to get it right, and give it enough time. But, the GI preview seems to prelude that the delay still seems to not be enough time.

But, yeah...the idea is there and I think it really proves that if you want to get the game right....you need alot more time than they give those developers. I agree with you.....no matter how good, or bad, that game turns out. Fans can atleast say, well they really tried to do it justice.

all i'm gonna say about the next game, thats based on the sequel...is that whoever is developing it.....better get started within the next 6 months.....I want the game to be awesome....not just decent or good....but freakin great! By developing a game within a span of 2 years....the chances are higher it will be good....compared to making the game in only 10 to 12 months.

I liked Batman Begins game but I don't want EA to produce the game.

Well EA has the Lisence. If they could get an Actual EA studio instead of a Third Party that would be great.

Well, doesn't EA own Ubisoft? Get those dudes to work on the mechanics.

They should try a new game engine, for sure. Sandbox is the way to go.

And, for what it's worth......it appears like EA is getting ready. That rumor from GI seems to indicate that much.

Im pathetic for buying the Batman game and never got around finishing it.

Really?

Well, go ahead and jump in. I mean, you already have it so....might as well play it.

But, sometimes...that happens to me. Usually when I buy one too many games at once, some find they're ways to collecting dust. Especially with school coming up, my time will be less.....so I'll have to get cracking.

Actually, I think I might love the driving missions over the sneaking.

I like how it felt, and really.....it was a carbon copy of BURNOUT.

I just thought it was fun.

But, if they go GTA style.....they'll need to revamp it on a massive level.

And with the Next Gen consoles, the graphics better be up to par.

Yeah, and the fact that by the time it hits the X360 and PS3 would be out for a year or so......it can help in the game engine.

But, going for the GTA style might not be enough.

I mean, if you've played GTA San Andreas.....you know what I mean. Customizable to the max. Tons of side missions. Tons of vehicles.

Someday, I'd like to see Rockstar take a whipcrack at Batman, Superman.....or some other badass superhero. They're a fantastic devloper.

Just make it in the same vain as the Spider-Man games. That is pretty much it. With the XBOX360 and PS3 you can expand it greatly. I think it would be cool if your warning meter rises the longer you are publicly exposed and the lower it is the more fear you can cause. I meant there are a ton of ideas to kick around if they just go with the free roam style.

You have to admit tho. The Graphics in the BB game were top notch.
