The Wachowskis' Ninja Assassin

Finally watched the trailer for the first time and this looks badass.

Thanks for the links, looks awesome in HD, cant wait for this. :D

I concur SonikDeath! It looks fantastic in HD! Especially the fight in the burning house.

watched the HD trailer. the action looks even batter.i dont think the movie looks cheap in action and look. but it looks like they didnt spend a lot of money on it which is iMO right because not every movie needs to be over 200 millions.

at the beginning of the trailer it says R. but why did they change the blood to brown here?

It was a green band trailer.
aha so even if they say that it is R when its green then it is not actually R? it needs to be red?

does this mean that the gore will be bigger in the movie? :wow::hehe:

Thats why most of the action scenes featured in this trailer feel so truncated.

I really hope Warner Brothers releases a red band trailer. A movie that has so much blood and gore (according to early screening reviews) needs a red band to demonstrate some of the action without the obvious cutting and editing down of the gore.

Trailer = :applaud

For a while i feared Warner Bros were going to pull the same stunt did they did on Trick R Treat.:o

On the way back to the hotel after a super secret screening for Ninja Assassin (which I’m not really allowed to discuss, even though we briefly chat about it anyways), I decided to record a video blog review of D9 with Alex Billington of FirstShowing.net.

They both loved it!
WB's was more than likely to conjure up more buzz so i doubt these guys will into trouble for posting their impressions.

Thanks Rezzo.

I gotta admit, I like the release date, nothing is out around that time, it should be a big hit.

Has anyone noticed that Raizo did handstand on needle bed?

I saw this movie at comic con, and loved it. Works on several levels. The action is stylized, but you can tell there's a real fight going on under there. I like that. The fights also have an aesthetic progression throughout the film.

That picture of the fight between the main character and his teacher is the last fight in the movie. It's matted against fire, as you can see, and the way it's shot is a trip. It's certainly shot the "widest." As the character comes more into his own, the fights become clearer to envision.

nicky you think the masses will like it? or is it more for the geeks?

Its so fantastic Eggy said it twice :hehe:

Edit-Dammit now I've said it Twice :csad:

Damn you Eggy:cmad:

lol, it cut out before the page loaded. I didn't even think I'd said it once :D

Well, "the masses" have certainly embraced films with comparable blood content and stylized action. There's also a very sympathetic female lead that helps lend some verisimilitude to the whole thing.

I mean, it's a movie about ninjas, so there's an accepted level of the sublime. (The super-quick ninja effects almost makes them appear to turn into dust ... you can see this in the trailer.) But she and her entire subplot have an air of plausibility in contrast to the ninja scenes that may help a more traditionally minded audience.

The ninjas themselves, however, are depicted as if in the mind of the observer, enhanced with the mythic terror they're supposed to inspire in the victims. No realism there! But that's no problem for me. I found it very effective. Surreal.
