The "we're sorry, Brett" thread...

Either way, Storm was a useless stiff plank of wood in Singer's films.

And she's still a useless stiff plank in the Ratner film. Because she's a weak Storm.

I guess you are just one of those people that gets their rocks off from action scenes with no emotional impact or depth.

And don't care how clearly rushed this movie was.

No, I'm one of those people that gets their rocks off from finally seeing the characters have some actual personalities rather than being less than paper thin, as well as seeing some great eye candy in the action scenes where the first two were mediocre.

If I got my rocks on from no emotional impact or depth, I'd love Singer's bland X films.

But the thing with folks like that is they will tell you the story was fine.. hence the whole point of the problem. They are willing to accept story on a lower level and think its perfect.. its very scary imo.

And why'd she have to wear so much clothing:(

I will never understand why Singer choose Berry.

i hear (so i don't affirm it)that Fox put her in the movie against his will.

Somebody know more about that?

She was a weak Storm in Singer's films, being given very little of any interest to do can do that with any actress.

In Rattner's film she's easily one of the best things about the movie, from a powers standpoint and a personality one.

oh come on, like singers movie's were dripping with emotion? More then half the main characters barley did anything! You may think storm was flat in this movie too, but hell at least she did something. And I didn't think she was flat, but that was just my opinion.

This always happens on boards liek this. Folks attempt to invert how things are, even putting the other flicks down and not realizing thats ridiculous.

A great actor can do a lot with little.

look at Clint Eastwood even in his earlier film..he just had that film presence..

Alright, get off your high horse and stop acting like you know everything, please. You didn't like the movie, that's fine, everyone likes different things. It's not scary that some people think the movie is good, it's called a difference of opinion. Everyone likes different things, you didn't like the movie and thats alright, but just because you didn't like it means that the movie sucks. It means you didn't like it. And because I like the movie does not mean it was good. It means I liked it. Nothing more, nothing less.

Well you know it's difficult to argue with somebody who doesn't seem to know what he is talking about and worse who is not humble about it.

Yes, indeed it is, as you've shown by your incompetent, factually false argument; and you've given me no reason to be humble.

Ah i like that kind of humility : glad that you enjoyed the movie :) ( i liked it ..even if it is imo a subpar movie )

The point is imo.. you want better flicks? get with the program and stop justifying everything imo... even the unjustifiable...

i dont know my review stance yet but really.. i KNOW theres going to be issues so far that any director is just plain foolish to do with a 3rd film.

brett the movie was as good as x2. and that is the biggest compliment i can think of to give you... i reallllllly love x2:) your action was alot better tho i mean it was just pure eye candy
thanks:) im sorry i ever doubted you

Singer gave her less than little to work with, same with Marsden and Famke, amongst others. He's good at holding actors back, as he showed me even further in this film, where Halle and Famke who were completely uninvolving in Singer's films give very strong performances here.

Alright, fine, if you think the other movies were good, then don't just act like I'm ignorant and my opion means nothing. DEFEND YOUR OPION. Why do you think the other films were better?

I personaly didn't think they had as much character development because many characters, such as storm, cyke, jean, really didn't do much. It focused on Wolverine.

There I've given you a REASON as to my feelings, whereas you just simply act like you know everything and that I'm wrong. Try to support your opinon please, or else no one will take you seriously.

What are you talking about man? Do you mean Cyclops in the several lines before he was turned into worm food?

Do you mean Colossus in the oh, wait, Colossus didn't really have any lines this time either, even though he had more lines in the second movie with just a CAMEO appearance.

What personalities?

If I got my rocks on from no emotional impact or depth, I'd love Singer's bland X films.

No, you love Ratner's X-men film, because that's what you get your rocks off from.

This is what ticks me off about you novices. You all conveniently forget Storm's subplot with Nightcrawler in X-men 2. You forget about Storm piloting the X-jet and creating a huge amount of tornadoes.

You forget that she SAVED ALL OF HUMANITY ON THE ENTIRE FRIGGING PLANET!

Nah she didn't do anything. But now that in this movie she spins around, you can finally get your rocks off on Storm because she spins around!

and i think even though Ratner turned in a movie better than X1 and X2, alot of you just won't admit it for whatever reason, but, we'll see what happens

no Famke was uninvolving for you in SINGER films ( with a more subtle character )

Berry was just about the same.she had just more line ..i will give you that she had the beginning of a good story arc. sad that it is not more explored.

Ps:It's interesting that you didn't said anything about my example ..Apart than Berry had less than Eastwood in his earlier films? i guess you didn't see them ..but again you know eh?

I agree , thinking about it Berry had way more interesting scene in X2 with Nightcrawlers.i was very touched ( but more by Cumming performance)

and ..Yes, she didn't do nothing LOL ;)

Alright, for starters I've been on the board for over a year, don't call me a novice anymore, I think I've earned at least that. No, I didn't forget about storm pioletting the x-jet or creating the tornadoes, but are you honestly satisfied with only that? If so then I guess that's fine, but I thought Storm had more potential then to be a glorified pilot. And yes, she did save the professor and humans...but those secenes were pretty much it. We got a very little insight into what Storm thought about humanity with the Nightcrawler talk, but that was it. Other then that, she was there to do cool things.

No I didn't "get my rocks off" that Storm spins around. I was happy she had more then a minute of dialouge in the entire movie. But honestly I wished she had had a little more. Do you "get you're rocks off" because she makes cool tornadoes and snow?

well , on the action side yes..as for her character arc in X2 it could have begun earlier in the movie yes..but it was good and more explored than the one in X3 imo and with more subtility..i was way more involved.

No I'm not. But I'm satisfied she had a subplot with Nightcrawler that had a legitimate payoff.

I'm satisfied that she SAVED ALL OF HUMANITY FROM EXTINCTION!

But all you novices, yes NOVICES just brush it aside and forget it.

You hail Ratner as this genius director because he makes Storm SPIN AROUND! How fun.

No I don't. At least I'm not being in denial about what Storm actually did and saying crap like she did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the last 2 movies.

She had a few more lines, so what? Cyclops was JETTISONED! They had Storm give the eulogy that rightfully belongs to Cyclops. Storm didn't have that intimate scene with Xavier in the FIRST MOVIE that Cyclops did.
