The "we're sorry, Brett" thread...

Yup that's right ,i know that you obviously couldn't see it at that moment.. that's not what i mean at all.

i mean i thought that people here wouldn't admit when they thought were wrong..

i hope that you are not in psychology field , man..

You should try to give counter arguments to Shadowbowing post ..there maybe you would be a little more constructive.......

well, you know, considering that i've responded to every one of his posts, and yours, and haven't been given anything other that dolled up "that's my opinion" posts...

how about if you don't hide under his skirt? hm?

Just wondering Mr.Credible, what made you like this film more than the first two? What did you dislike about this one?

No I could, and quiet well actually. I always did a great Magneto impression, and my Stryker is not half bad either. But no, for example Mystic River I have only seen twice. But I remember "Is that my daughter in there" and "When was the last time you saw David Boyle" and "Vampires, I was thinking about Vampires" and "Admit what you did" and "You only find love like that once" and "I couldn't even cry at her funeral, I couldn't even cry" "well you're crying now" and so on. So movies that are written well stick with you even after one showing. Look at a great movie like Batman Begins which people were quoting the next day.

like i said, we could argue this all day, because i could spout off a bunch of lines from movies that i've seen a dozen times, too... god forbid that i can't remember a few lines from X3 whislt i've been drinking. actually, i probably could if i weren't spending all my time responding to you and the other guy.

You can assume again all you wan't ..;) it's just that arguing with you doesn't interest me as it is absurd..i mean have you reread yourself? but i'm sure that you see nothing wrong with it.;)..it's just that one can't argue with somebody who think he is so right based on......nothing but his opinion ( which is good , but one have to have the humility to admit that it is only his opinion unlike you...not in the way you do it .."it's only my opinion but you know , you are wrong"...pleaseee.

Anyways no you have not given any counter points to Shadow exellent post (to who i wish good luck with you)

my advice man be more humble , you'll be a little more ....credible ;)

Exactly neither can I and thats a problem. In X1 and X2 there were a ton of memorable scenes whose dialogue stuck out to me, like pretty much everything Nightcrawler ever said and most of what Stryker said and especially "I'll take my chances with him". This stuff lives on because its good and solid and makes an impression. Whereas this movie had to use one liners to acheive any memorable scene. If the biggest thing I remember is an out of place "I love you" and "I'm the Juggernaut b****" and the rest is a blur that probably means your dialogue was clunky and not tied well to the story (i.e. characterization). And as our latest installment points out below, X3 has no conversation.

When my friends and I discuss movies we'll quote lines and even whole chunks of dialogue. I think some of us can recite entire movies. If you're discussing a film months or even years after it premiered and you can't remember specific dialogue that's really bad in my opinion.

And also at this point in the game was NOT... in fact the opposite time to do a "keep it moving" movie... who gets cocky on a part 3?

Anyone that has observed films expected to crash in this genre knows to not deliberately take risks like that and BE SURE to alter their instinct to appeal to everyone who likes story, not those whose detectors go off when its technically there only. Youre only going to get a portion of the story minded critics reviews that way. You must make it a point to show your story off... flaunt it like Chris Nolan did... and guess what? It worked because people can see effort.

it was, in a word, funner... it had (much) better action, a better story (i thought) better acting... i thought it was better than the first two put together...

what didn't i like? honestly, i can't think of too much right now that i didn't. i've never touched an X comic in my life, so i can't say whether or not the characters were treated with dignity in that respect, i can only say that they were treated better than X1 or X2 ever cared to.

I agree. I only remember bits and pieces of X3, but because the characters never had conversations the lines do not flow with eachother. Nightcrawler had conversations, Magneto had conversations with Charles in prison, Cyclops had a conversation with Jean in the museum and this is where you learn about characters. And these are the things that stick with you because the lines have an impact on the movie. Its kind of like Family Guy where the jokes are interchangable. Sure you can remember this joke and that joke, but because they are not intergral to the plot (by and large) you usually don't remember the episode. Whereas the Simpsons the jokes always fit right in (not to dis Family Guy mind you).

So for X3 I remember things they just don't stick out.

i'd wager that after you came out of the theatre seeing X1 and X2 you coudn't quote any direct lines from the movies, either... but, we could argue that all day, so...

I'd take that bet.

I read hundreds of fan fics that used lines verbatium from both movies. As I seriously doubt all those authors conveniently had a copy of the script handy it must mean that there was memorable dialogue. :)

i could say the same thing about you and your friend, but, unlike you guys, i've said in more than a few of my post/responses things like "in my opinion" and "i think" so... there goes that argument.

oh, and could you blow Shadow a little harder? all he's thrown at me are opinions, no facts at all, same as i've thrown at him, so, again, there goes that... nice try, tough.

but we're not talking about the comics, are we? we're talking about the movie.

if you want to get into the adaptation of characters, please tell me how well singer handled them

LOL ok ;)

You know to be sure that i didn't miss anything , to be fair and try to argue on something with you i reread your posts there ..well there is nothing to argue.really Shadow is wasting his time.(and you are wasting yours ..it's obvious that you said all that you had to say..that said well it's your life :) )

no you're not credible sorry .

good luck people

yeah, Maze, and you've given me so much food for thought... it's amazing how so many poeple argue their point with "you can't argue my point"

myself included, but, i haven't really been given anything to the contrary, so...

Well for one thing you advanced that people here can't admit that they they were wrong : wrong.

to give you another example : a lot of people said here that Ratner was going to achieve it , and now who admit that in their opinion it was ,not that good.(.but again i hope that they understand that is not entirely his faut.)

After that what did you say? that X3 was a better movie than X1 and X2 ?
and when one guy give you examples , well suddenly you have forgotten about the dialogues and scene ( and i believe it)

you said earlier that it take some guts to admit that one is wrong: well , seeing that you have not a lot to say ..your choice man ;)

again, please blow Shadow harder? seriously...

honestly, since you've gone back and apperently read all of mine and Shadow's posts, can you please tell me where he's "owned" me, or said something that i did not have a legitamate response to? because as far as i can see, this argument has gone something like this:

Me: I think this movie's good.

Shadow: I disagree!

Me: Well, nuh-uh!

Shadow: Yuh-huh!

and so on and so forth. so, if you can prove me wrong, please do so factually, instead of just telling me "uh... you're wrong, Shadow rules, etc..."

Shadow: Well actually your reasoning is flawed here, here and here, thats not what happens in the comics and this contradicts that

Me: Well, nuh-uh!

Shadow: Critical analyse shows here, here and here that this is this way, the movie because of this lacked.

and so on and so forth. so, if you can prove me wrong, please do so factually, instead of just telling me "uh... you're wrong, Shadow rules, etc..."
Thats more like it, I actually back up claims ;)

okay, i'm going to stop talking to you after this... but, could you please stop drastically editting and re-editting your posts to try and look like you had some kind of point?

geez...

Ive found often the way to more accurate ways of thinking of stuff is just instinct. You either have it or dont, and the directors that dont have it forever wonder why they dont.
