Two expansions packs, "Hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine" announced. :atp:

They said those will add 30 hours of content.

Also: "We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we'd like to bring that back. We've said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for money."

Screw it, I'm getting this game day one just to show support to these developers. Now I just need to find time to play the previous 2 Witchers...

You should of been doing that any way. It's the Witcher, an incredible game series.

I know :csad: I've actually had Witcher 2 in my 360 backlog for a long time now, and have the first one on pc, but never got around to playing those for some reason. Well, now it's a good time to fix that.

I'm playing Witcher 2 right now and it's making me less excited for 3. I'm enjoying the gameplay and story but it's just taking too long. I just have less and less time to really dedicate to games like this so even though I'm enjoying myself, it seems less worthwhile.

Play it. Just play it.

I haven't played any of the Witcher games, but I've got this preordered for the PS4.

So I'm going in fresh like a noob.

I think ull dig it. It doesn't have the customization U seem to clamor for in these games, but everything else is better than other similar games.

You should still play 2 if you still have ur 360

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
will get two major expansions post-release, collectively adding 30 hours of additional playtime to the game, CD Projekt RED announced.
The two expansions are:
Hearts of Stone (October 2015)
Hearts of Stone will take Geralt on an all-new, 10-hour-plus adventure into the wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass. Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.
Blood and Wine (Q1 2016)
Blood and Wine, a 20-hour-plus tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.
Both expansions will be available together via an “Expansion Pass,” or separately. Prices have not been announced. Both will offer new adventures, gear, and enemies, as well as characters both new and familiar.
“With the development of Wild Hunt coming to an end, the team has embarked upon the creation of two new really big adventures set in The Witcher universe,” CD Projekt RED co-founder Marcin Iwinski said in a press release.
“We remember the time when add-on disks truly expanded games by delivering meaningful content. As gamers, we’d like to bring that back. We’ve said in the past that if we ever decide to release paid content, it will be vast in size and represent real value for the money. Both our expansions offer more hours of gameplay than quite a few standalone games out there.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 19.

I don't have a 360, either. PS4 is all I have for the moment.

yeah, I prefer RPGs where you can create/customize your own character, but I've been interested in this series for some time now, so I think this would be a good time to get into it. :woot:

But none of those have the story and depth that the Witcher has, so its a good trade off. Geralt is a great character, better than anything us gamers could come up with and the game does offer some flexibility, in both physical appearance and moral decisions.

so are the Witcher games ones where Geralt can make choices in the game and those choices actually affect the story?

in regards, to Geralt's "morality," is that something the player has control over? or does he have a set moral personality?

if it's the latter, is he more a noble, "straight arrow" character? a "bad ass" antihero? or a morally gray character?

To a degree yes I don't think it was done on the same level of mass effect though or pushed like that as some others( other games) have tried where you'd import what you have doe chose wise which will have it effect the next game as a result of what you did ETC with the story to progress.

you will have different out comes with in the story like love chose's though.

Yea to an extent. I believe this games choices will be much more impactful on the world around Geralt than the previous games.

Not really. Geralt is more or less a defined character. The player can make small alterations but for the most part Geralt is Geralt. For example my Geralt(and excuse my crudeness) f***ed Triss and Triss only, even tho the option to sleep with other women were presented to the character.

There's shades of grey to the dude. I mean he cares about those close to him, but he doesn't really concern himself that much with the plight of others if it doesn't directly affect him. The start of the last game basically had him wanting to go off and spend out his days with Triss before events pulled him in to the games story. I mean Geralt is a monster hunter, that's his job and that's what he wants to do.

Like I said it's not like world events happen like what happen's in mass effect cause by you and some other games where you be come legend or some unknown hero. ( your talk about by any village people your near, but they don't know your the one that did save the world or a town or kingdome )

your only dealing with & with stuff that directly effects the other character's your involved with ,there in the game . there isn't really a heavy world change of events , where your actions are talked about how you changed the world or rumor of it. It's just not pushed that way. You will have deep meaningful RPG experience besides that . There's a lot to enjoy with this series.

CD Projekt Red's attitude over the Expansion Pass announcement was very refreshing:

"Wait and read the reviews. If it doesn't sound good. Don't buy it."

Seriously, what developer for a major game release says that? These guys are awesome.

They are awesome. The fact that they are making legit expansion packs is proof enough.

My Geralt made sweet, passionate love to Triss. He also shagged Ves, Cynthia, an elf and a succubus. I have multiple playthroughs. :o

who's the sorceress in the trailer that Geralt's tracking? is she a LI to Geralt, too?

The brunette is Yennefer, the love of Geralt's life. She is prominent in the books. The young girl who looks like a Witcher is Ciri, Geralt's "daughter", though not by blood. One could argue that Ciri is the main character of the Witcher novels.

Most, if not all developers feel that way. Gamers far too often get the developer and the publisher confused, they are not the same. CDPR has the benefit of not having to bow to a publisher that is only interested in the bottom line. Most developers don't have that luxury. DICE, the creators of Battlefield, were saying the same things CDPR was before they were aquired by EA. The developers are artists, they want to put out great work and of course be compensated for it, but at the end of the day, for most devs, it's about the art of what they are doing. Publishers, 9 times outta 10 ONLY see the ROI.

Yennefer caught my attention cuz she had that raven/crow familiar in the trailer! :woot:
