Fallout 4

I've always said that pre orders were the reason that games are becoming more and more unfinished.

These days a developers more focused on getting all those pre orders fulfilled on schedule then taking time fine tuning their game to technical perfection.

I still firmly believe that preorders are whats killing industry standards of quality, thus more bugs, thus more patches.

That said im also a strong believer of not showing games at conferences like E3 and hyping it up to sky high when the developer knows that its far from complete. (eyes on you Ubisoft and the division) :oldrazz:

Why mention Witcher 3 at all, if you're not comparing the two games?
It's about overall quality. Not a comparison "what's a truer RPG" - creating your own character or playing as a predefined one.

Nope. It really varies from project to project. We got nearly flawless GTAV, MGSV (except for that game breaking bug with Quiet), Bloodborne, Arkham Knight (console versions). Witcher 3 got plenty of glitches, minor bugs (we downloaded like gigabytes of patches already). Fallout 4 is ridden with glitches and bugs as well. All these games were available for pre-order.

I think pre-ordering games is more about promotion, rather than actual sales.

Can't agree with you on this. Witcher 2 development almost bankrupted CDPR. You probably weren't there when the game came out. It was barely playable. They HAD to release the game and fix it up during the following year.

So you're comparing overall quality. Ergo, you made a comparison.

You didn't specify what kind of comparison we were or weren't allowed to make between Fallout 4 and Witcher 3, so I'm not sure what your point is. Creating characters or having predefined ones was something that was introduced into an already on-going discussion about comparing the two games. Your blanket statement was to not compare the two, which you went right ahead and did a couple of pages later.

Anyway, I made my point. I'm enjoying the game a lot and I can see this conversation only becoming more ridiculous than it already is so I'll be ending my involvement in it here.

Fair point, but there is a growing concern of newer games being broken on launch like AC unity and Arkham knight on PC.

 To this.

Anyway, I can't stop doing the minecraft like stuff in the game, haha. I really need to go explore.

I'm loving this game. I stayed up til 3 in the morning playing it last night. It just gets ya hooked!

May win dumb.. But how in the bloody hell do I remove a power core and replace it with another? I have several in my inventory and now my PA is moving like a slug.

I'm not a fan of not being able to see the weapon holstered, but it's a nitpick. Other than that I'm having a blast!

This is the first time ever I've played a game like this and not just wandered off to do my own thing -but I haven't done any of the crafting business yet either! This time around the character's motivation to follow the main quest is paramount (for me). Other than stopping to help out random people along the way (usually with a mind to furthering my cause) I'm heading headfirst down the core plot line.

I was up 'til 2! It's for this reason I have to make sure whenever I sit down to play, I have at least a couple of hours free. :woot:

Has an update patch been announced? I don't know how bad it is but I'm guessing a big patch may be needed!?

I'm still excited to play this when I finally get the game in a few weeks.

Has anyone else got that crazy glitch when you the loads, it has the interior level upside down?

So buying this digitally for XBox1 gets a free copy of Fallout 3??

How do you get the code?

:yay: Forgive me, I'm a poser gamer and my last system was the original XBox

None has been announced, but one will come no doubt. There will, most likely, be several. It's a mainline Besthesda game.

Same! I HATE that. But so far that my only gripe. I can live with it.

You'll get a message from MS giving you the code, but I beleive it was only if you preordered the game. If not tho, just expect a message from
Xbox and the code will be there.

I'm loving the game so far. As Skyrim was the first for me in the Elderscrolls, this is the first for me in this series.

I know it's going to be buggy at some point but so far so good. And that classical music stations just rocks.

I just hope their update doesn't cause touching water to freeze the system. That was the only negative experience I had with Skyrim. The rest were minor.

Other praise: the atmospheric themes are on point. The design aesthetic is great. And I just married Lydia!

so....ummm.......does anyone find the baby at the beginning kind of creepy looking?

and also, is it just me or does the baby's skin color not match the parents' color??

I wonder if it's just the lighting or if I need to play around with the character creator some more for both parents.

Probably just the baby models, still haven't reached the point of finding Shaun to see what he looks like now and the internet is currently ripe with end game spoilers lol.

I haven't run into any serious glitches yet. :) It has been a very smooth experience for me.

I had an extreme marathon.. I believe my finale clock time before passing out at 4 AM was 10 hrs 15 mins... And I didn't have a single glitch, hiccup, slow down or anything else.

Not saying they're not happening... But I can't help but feel they're grossly exaggerated.

Well the new Xbox One system update released today, anyone see any performance improvements for Fallout 4 with the new system update installed?
