Lol! The first thing that comes to me to me is 'Avengers'. :oldrazz:

Oh I was just going off you saying The Shield and used the TV show of the same name, is there an actual group called that now? :O

Best in the woooooooorrrrrrrlllldddd!!!!

It seems like for all for of WWE efforts to the contrary, there are still a lot of Punk fans out there.

I love how they pushed that Punk was at the Thanksgiving parade in Chicago but didn't even mention the fact that he was on the Talking Dead last night talking about the latest episode of The Walking Dead.

yes they did, it was quick but they mentioned it

Hey guys, maybe Teddy Long could be The Shield's manager and wear an eye patch. ;)

Punk jumping over the rails is going to become a nice gif in the near future.

So is this Straight Edge Society part Deux?

Or The Nexus Part Deux?

Or the Corre Part Deux?

Of course they're not working for CM Punk. They're working for Paul Heyman!

Looking at them again, I got a flashback to Big Bossman from his Attitude Era return.

They should start handcuffing guys to the ropes like bossman did, that would be cool.

Actually that would be awesome!

Ambrose: "Okay guys, we need a fresh way to punish Ryback, any ideas?"

Reigns: "Lets hit him with a car and say we did for The Rock."

Teddy: "Tag match playa!"

Rollins: "Lets tie him up and make him listen to 3MB sing".

Teddy: "Tag match playa!"

Ambrose : "Lets rip his heartt out of his chest and throw it up against the wall!"

Teddy: "Tag match PLAYA!!"

Ambrose: "Alright dammit!!! We'll have a tag team match."

Teddy:" Holla Holla Holla"

Dean, Roman, and Seth are calling themselves The Shield. They're a shield from injustice , :woot:.

Some of the people who watch no matter what and don't really care about the quality are part of the problem. Vince knows those people are hard to drive away and as long as they are around he'll make money. He and WWE are comfortable and complacent right now.

He's conditioned whole chunks of the viewing audience to accept what he feeds them and believe what he tells them. Its always been like that since the day he took over but now very little effort goes into the quality of the product. Its why WWE write their own history and tout their own propaganda. When WWE influences the fans when they are young they've created little consumer trainees who will pay off for them for years. Rinse and repeat. They did it with everyone here in this thread at one point 30/20/10 years ago.

Even I see the problems but I still watch out of nothing but habit most of the time. McMahon knows this is true of a lot of viewers and even counts on it.

Vince and Linda are like evil cigarette company executives. They want to "get them hooked while they're young". I do get a bit of nostalgia watching wrestling . I didn't have much in common with my father and that's the only thing we ever watched together. I have fond memories , but don't want to see that all go to waste because of a lackadaisical owner. This younger generation might not have as much to grasp onto when it comes to memorable moments. I bet most of them will just move on when they are older.

You start fresh with FRESH FACES. Get behind building new stars at the right time instead of waiting until the last minute like WWE has done for over five years. You start fresh by bringing in fresh but talented minds to take those old storylines and adding new twists and creative ideas and NOT booking the show for yourself (Vince McMahon). Things would freshen up a lot if creative weren't slaves to every complaint of an aging out of touch egomaniac. Its not fresh when they are booking at the whim and for the taste of an OLD MAN who is past his prime. Bring in good creative minds and take the proverbial cuffs off them.

Storylines getting recycled is nothing new but WWE doesn't seem to want to understand WHY those old storylines worked or how to implement them in todays product.

Ryback is the perfect example. Its Warrior and Goldberg all over again but the execution shows they don't know why those two previous characters took off the way they did. Punk is another one. He's a rebel, an anti hero in the vein of a Savage or Roberts or Austin but WWE clearly aren't even students of their own history or successes. Punk could be more than he is now.

I agree a lot with what you been saying. The WWE doesn't need to have another Attitude Era. They have to use their resources and develop compelling storylines (mixed with competent booking) for the audience to invest in the characters.

Hopefully they don't blow this new nexus angle. I think the interview might of helped differentiate the groups. This is a new spin on an old formula.
