I think Angle will have one more match to go out on.

On this day in 1996, Shawn Michaels fought Davey Boy Smith to a draw to retain the WWF Championship at Beware Of Dog from the Civic Center in Florence, South Carolina.

Edit: This match has a special meaning to me because it was the first Dusty finish I ever saw.

I vote on making the Women and Tag Team Division brand exclusive. It's the only way to make the titles worth something. With that said, the only bad thing is the World Heavyweight Championship. We only got the current belt two years ago. If it wasn't for that, I would support the brand split 100%.

I'll tell you this much, even if the purposed second world title doesn't main event some PPVs. I'll still have some appreciation for guys getting storyline development and focus on Smackdown that wouldn't be getting it in the current format, and with weekly spoilers being erased and talents being exclusive, it makes Smackdown significant again. That's a good thing.

Agreed wheels.

I like your idea of woman's title on one show, tag titles on the other.

I'd have the women on Raw, and tag matches on Smackdown.

They should also bring back the cruiserweight title. They just need to handle things properly.

Because at this point it's obvious they're going to split up the Lucha Dragons. They're already doing the cruiserweight tournament in NXT. Just use that title for the smaller guys that are good workers but not over enough to transition to the main event scene.

All this talk just reinforces my belief that the brand split is as bad an idea as it ever was. Repeating all the worst mistakes of the post-Attitude era. I want to be proven wrong, but I doubt I will.

What does he know, he's just a filthy Hydra agent! :o

Call me cynical but I am laughing at all the endless optimism. Instead of three hours poorly booked crap, we will get five (or six?) hours of poorly booked live crap. The company is fundamentally wrongheaded from the core, spearheaded by an out of touch loonie. Brand split? Live smackdown? Layers of distractions; from the fact that the company is rotten from the inside.

Remember when Raw first went three hours and all the optimists were like 'booking for two hours is hard, the extra hour is gonna give them more room to book better', what happened to that? Booking got even worse. Of course it did. Two hours is plenty enough time to book well. If you can't book well in two hours, you wouldn't be able to book better in three.

And now the split roster will cripple booking even further. And and the added time will make the two shows feel twice as redundant.

Dark times ahead. UNLESS they do the logical thing and let Paul Heyman book smackdown. Then even I can be an optimist.

Didn't the head writer for NXT recently get called up to the main roster? This might have been way they called him up.

Good for ROH getting toys, but those look bad. But, Jay's shirt has a bottle of whiskey and Steen's shirt wasn't PG cut, so I like em.

I have never been a supporter of the brand spilt, even with the good things that come out of it. Speaking of which, a good match from the WHC era is HHH vs RVD from Unforgiven 2002. Watch it.

Jack Evans with a belt? He's cool.

Smackdown going live as an excellent change, and one I applaud WWE for making.

But the brand split is, always was, and always will be stupid. It's just a crutch for poor booking and character development. They have no idea how to make people on the lower and midcards look interesting so instead they artificially create two separate upper cards.

As it stands John Cena and Roman Reigns are each just going to get their own half of the roster to destroy.

They have 8 hours of weekly wrestling TV year round (Raw, Smackdown, Superstars, Main Event, NXT) plus PPVs/Network specials and they manage to do less with it than Lucha Underground does with an hour a week, 25-40 weeks out of the year.

They should just drop Main Event and Superstars, cut Raw back to two hours. Do Raw and Smackdown live, tape NXT. No brand split. Five hours of WWE programming per week is more than enough.

And while you're at it, stop with the replays. I swear at least 30% of Raw and Smackdown are replays and recaps.

So I hear that Brock Lesnar could still be drafted......that is totally stupid. Lesnar should be exempt from being drafted, like The Rock, Triple H and the Undertaker are.

so, if there's going to be a new brand split, does that mean the world champion will be split again?

Hear from who? A report by some dirt sheet site? It sure isn't big enough to be passed around much.

And you already did the same post yesterday , wtf? We are all the same posters here

If Smackdown will be on Tuesdays now, that means no more spoilers.
