I could be wrong, I may have forgotten a few details, but when Superman was beaten to death by Doomsday, he just needed to be recharged right? Because his body had used all its energy...

Well what if thats the same excuse they use to bring back Kal L in JSA?
He's older, so it took longer for his body to recharge, plus he had all the red sun rays. The same Rays that only made our Superman powerless for a year.

Thoughts?

(I know at the end of IC they show Kal L and Lois in the afterlife, but who said that was real?)

huh, I am willing to bet that something like that will happen in the future

I think its stupid, but you're probably onto something.

As cool as Kal-L was, I think that having two Supermen around would be a little confusing. Yes, I know there've been a bunch of Flashes and Green Lanterns at once, but they're all different guys who share a common legacy, not the same one guy from two universes.

And character-wise, he had a great sendoff at the end of IC, saving the universe/multiverse from a perverted version of his own image, and dying content in the fact that the "other" Superman was every bit as much of a hero as he was. Having him come back would lessen the effect.

I think he should dress up as KC superman and be the new Metron like in the superman/batman books

I think it's stupid too, he should stay dead, but if they're gonna bring him back, there isnt another way to do it.

Plus, didnt Superman have an afterlife thing with his dad in a coma before he came back?

sigh... just like Optimus Prime. :(

It could happen, but Superman-1 didn't get brought out of his "deathlike comatose state" just by laying around and soaking up the sun. He needed to be put into a special chamber specifically designed to revive him.

How did OP come back?

oh, the Quintessons brought him back to life to use against the Autobots but the Matrix purged him of their influence which lead to Prime sacrificing himself to save the Autobots by piloting a ship into the sun or something. of course in a later episode Prime was later saved from said ship by some humans testing some new kind of shielding which cheapened his death even further.

Maybe thats why this is taking so long...

Considering Eradicator played a big part in reviving him through artificial means and said it was something that could only be done once and even then the circumstances had to be perfect, I doubt Kal-L can come back just like that. I prefer if he didn't come back at all. I was cool with the CoEI "death" and I'm satisfied with his IC death, leave the guy alone and rest in peace, he deserves it.

Thats how i feel, but did u see the last page of JSA?

Yes, I did. PG asks "KAl-L is that you?" so for all we know it could be Emo-boy Prime bursting out of the tomb.

except that it's E-2 Superman's sleeve, and SB Prime is still trapped on Oa.

A blue skin tight sleeve on what looks like a caucasian male in a story that's months away? You're right, I missed the part that says "Earth 2 Metropolis Cleaners" and DC's editorial mandate that Emoboy won't escape.;):p

Or maybe death will lose all meaning and we'll see plenty of other corpses milling about the DCU. Or potential DC multiverse.

Big stuff is going to happen. I feel speculating and guessing are only going to lead us further from the truth.

Earth 2 Superman has a distinctive sleeve cuff, not to mention the tombstone says "Kal-L".

Yeah his sleeve cuff has the ruffles that make his suit look like a sweater.

I thought it was awesome having E2 Superman step up to the plate in IC. I like the idea that if he was to live E1 Superman's life, he would have done things differently, as noted in the Action Comics "This is Your Life" storyline. To see E2 Superman believe in himself throughout the years up until old age, doing what's right and being true to Lois, that's admirable.

I think we will be seeing something epic in the next few months from DC, and I am looking forward to where Johns intends to take the JSA, possible Kal L, and Kingdom Come superman. Its weird to see the Justice League's Roy be known as Red Arrow, Johns naming Albert Rothstein Atom Smasher after kingdom come, as well as the new Star Man from KC. Johns is setting DC up for something big...

^let's hope so. Infinite Crisis was a bit of a letdown.

I remember as a kid when I actually read the Marvel Transformers series and Optimus Prime had the most random death ever around issue 25 or 26. He and Megatron were competing in a videogame, where the loser would be destroyed, and Megatron cheated to win the game, so Optimus was blown up. It was just so bizarre and kinda annoying as a kid to see one of your heroes just randomly outsmarted and killed.

It's most definatley E2 supes' sleave.
