Someone who worked on the first 2 X-Men films said on AMC Heroes that Bryan Singer watched the whole Animated Series when he got the job, before even picking up a comic. Probably where all this Jubilee love is coming from. Appears to be a bigger role than I first anticipated

He apparently thought it would have been too much with wolverine,Cyclops,and Gambit in same film especilly when trying to introduce X-Men to GA.

Sawyer from Lost would've been... just perfect as Gambit. Besides, the budget for the first movie was disgusting, so there was probably a lot he wanted to do, but just never got the chance.

I dont think he considered Gambit in X1. Beast was considered to be in X1 but was cut due to budget restrictions and Jubilee was a student. So out of all the regular from TAS, Gambit was singled out in X1/X2.

Also Gambit's powers arent that hard to translate in film. He also looks normal and colored contacts arent expensive.

I just wish after 7 films (11 after Wolverine 3) we would have already seen Gambit with the X-Men.

Ah ok. I thought I read that rumor somewhere. But yeah, Gambit's my favorite X-Men and I'm pretty bummed he hasn't been very prominent, but I'm hopeful for Channing Tatum.

They kinda squeezed him in Origins because of fan demand and LSD wanted Gambit to finally appear in a X-Men film. But if only they went ahead with X-Men 4... maybe he would have been part of the team a long time ago.

Gambit was in origins so they could plant seeds for other movies like gambit (solo),deadpool (solo), young mutants (first class)

thats why they threw everything in to that movie even if it didn't really fit as part of wolverines origin

Someone made an interesting point to me about that. It's like Fox thought, until FC at least, that they couldn't make an X-Men movie without Wolverine in a starring role. And then when it came time for the actual Wolverine movie, they suddenly thought that they couldn't do it without shoving a bunch of X-Men characters in there at random. Thankfully, TW fixed that problem.

Looking up her powers on wiki I didn't know that Jubilee was close to if not an omega level mutant. Wonder if we will see some of that potential on screen.

Eh, I wouldn't mind if they stick to the basics when it comes to Jubilee. No need to overpower her for convenience sake, like the books do with so many characters.

I found her costume a bit too cartoonish, is it just me? I mean ok it's 80's but you have to fight APOCALYPSE.

Do you think she will be with the other X-Men in the fights or stay back as Rogue in X2. I can imagine her in the X-Jet with her battle costume in that scene in the comic-con footage when Mystique leads the team.
