I just love how they were actually fighting in a back alley, no holds barred fight, and it was a great fight and seemed realistic.
And it was awesome. I liked how the south park guys reimagined this fight with Timmy and Jimmy
Only film I don't own of his I think is Ghosts of Mars, got it for a gift but sold it because I didn't like it.
Probably one of the only films of his I didn't like.

That's one of the reasons I loved it, how throughout the fight they were taking breaks to catch their breath.
Some of my friends who saw it thought it was stupid but I've always loved that scene.
the movie is not good.
the movie is not good.

I grew up a Carpenter fan though he fell off dramatically in the 90's (though I do have a soft spot for Vampire$, Village of the Damned and EFLA, sue me) I still watch any new material he makes. I saw his last few theatrical releases in empty theatres with cans of beers hoping that one day the master will return to form. The last thing They Live needs is a remake, seriously just leave Carpenter's movies alone man don't even suggest it cause some hollywood intern would read it on here and pitch it to their boss. I swear to God if I hear of Big Trouble In Little China, Prince of Darkness or Starman being optioned to be remade my head will explode. It's bad enough they're possibly going to tarnish the greatness of EFNY with a subpar remake next.

Vampires sucked out loud too![]()
t:thank you ck!! if oscars were to have best fight catagories, they live goes down in history as the best fight sequence...... period!! who's your pic for the lead? jet li and jackie chan? ugh!! it's awsome as it is!!! right down to carpenter's music!
i suppose you want the thing remade too?
oh wait... it IS a remake!!!!!![]()
There's absolutely no need for a remake....if Hollyweird bigwigs got their hands on it...Ashton Kutcher would play Roddy Piper's part, the latest rapper of the moment would play Keith David's part, Britney Spears would make her "Dramatic" comeback in Meg Foster's role, and the best fight in history would be turned into a Matrix bullet time wire-fu CGI mess.
The original Halloween may not be the only John Carpenter film that gets a decades-later sequel, as follow-ups to Big Trouble in Little China, Starman and Prince of Darkness have all been discussed in recent months. Of course, the Carpenter film most well-timed for a revival in 2018 is probably They Live, and it seems like *something* is indeed going on there.
In a chat with Den of Geek this week, the idea of a “refashioning” of They Live was presented to Carpenter, and his reply to the question was mighty interesting. Carpenter answered, “Well, I’m not gonna tell you about that, because it might be closer to reality than you think.”
The interviewer then brought up a remake that had been in development at one point, to which Carpenter replied: “There was a feature film. It was a feature film called Resistance, written by, oh, the guy who did the Apes movies. Matt Reeves. But then he moved on. And so the sequel is, well, we’ll see. We’ll just have to see.”
Carpenter also touched upon his recent Prince of Darkness comments, wherein he suggested that a TV series may be in the works. He told the site, “I might have done that, huh? You heard it from me. It’s not a lie, but it’s not ready to go yet, so rather than discuss it, I think I won’t.”
