I think they should do away with timed levels, following missions and include level select for EVERY GAME WITH LEVELS!!! I mean look at the first spiderman game for PS2. It had everything we could ask for level select, good graphics (for its time), unlockables, you could play as the green goblin for a WHOLE NEW STORY!!! after doing certain requirements, and by using cheats you could have your character have a different skin and play as MJ or a thug through the game. The down sides were that the swinging system wasn't that great and there were alot of inside and sneaking levels.
Now look at Spiderman 2 for the PS2, it lost EVERYTHING it's predecessor had, and what do we get for it? Spidey can now walk on the ground instead of just having rooftops and the swing system if fun. Look at all the extra things I mentioned before and now cross them off the list for this game. No more anything and what "extras" they did give us were crap. The movie theatre had 3 movies, the activision logo, and the two demos that came onm if you didn't hit the start button at the start screen. The only other bonus was the battle arena and that was fun except that it was timed.
Of course both games are hit with one thing I didn't like. The part where you have to find "tokens" hidden throughout the game. The first game wasn't bad with this, when you found tokens you got cool combos to use. The second one has no point to it. All you do is get points that could be used at a "spidey-store" which wasn't that bad when you were actually playing the game, but after you finished the main story and they let you free roam the rest of the time, there was no point. There was nothing more to buy or use points for. I loaded up my last save on that game (sometime back in september) and I had over 300k and nothing to use them on.
Really this is only an example of two games that I've played where they pretty much raped the second game when they had so much from the first to ADD ON TO. I know theres dozens of other examples but I was just going through my older PS2 games the other day and I saw the two of them.
