Things You Don't Understand Thread

We still have the so-called "Real Housewives of...," "16 and Pregnant," "Duck Dynasty," and a number of other quasi-reality television left to go around.

Ironically the Dirty Jobs series and others like that provide some sembalance of reality and character. They might be literally rolling in **** at times but it's still more honest than the rest of the reality television programming.

There is a fine line between reality TV and exposing *****ebaggery for the sake of shock value.

I love shows that give you true insight and have some informational value, the rest of "reality" TV can go **** itself.

I used to watch COPS, Dirty Jobs, and I still watch Mythbusters although that is somewhere between reality television and paid to just screw around recreating stupid things people do.

Too many fans of Bryan Singer being ******** about the accusations as if they, themselves, were accused. I don't understand those crazy X-Men fans sometimes.

Imagine though if those were accusations on someone like Kevin Feige....and the potential future of the Marvel Movieverse hung in the balance of something that might not even be true.....I'm not going to lie I'd freak out as well.

It's really sad when you see a show like Pawn Stars when the first season was raw and fun, then as the seasons go on you see how much more scripted everything gets, how much more fake and lifeless. You can practically see the executives behind the camera pulling all the strings. It's happened to so many shows.

I also agree with JJJ & Nick about reality shows such as Honey Boo Boo & others similar to it. For the life of me, I don't understand why people find it interesting or why people tune in to such pointless programming. I think reality shows should be done away with. :down

I think Shark Tank is the one of the very few of those reality based shows that I enjoy.

Don't watch much reality TV myself, but I heard Cops is making a return.

I don't understand the flack over Avril Lavigne's new video. I don't think the video is racist, maybe a bit stupid but not racist.

I don't understand North Korea.

The entire country and it's history and laws... I don't get any of it.

I've noticed the same thing in lower income neighborhoods where people hang out outside their homes like on the porch or backyard even in warm weather.

People do this in my neighborhood. What I don't understand is if you have a decent backyard (which my neighborhood has, not huge, but certainly enough to run around in/have a group of people in) why must you hang out in the front yard? I'm thinking of one house in particular that recently built on a 'porch,' it's more like a carport attached to the front of the house, and they have all manner of outdoor furniture out there. I'm sure it could sit 10 people, they even have side tables with little lanterns on each one! It baffles my mind and comes off as really nosy (as if they are just sitting out there to watch people).

I don't understand how Honey Boo Boo and her family are famous and some people actually like them.
They are the most grotesque worst displays of human life I've ever seen. It makes me angry just thinking about it.
I don't understand how someone could put there child out there for people to laugh at, which is what most people are doing. They're most likely just doing it for the money, but I could never do that to a little kid.

The Stannis Baratheon fandom.

The handful of guys outside my apartment building talking about all the people they'd like to beat the crap out of. I think. I've heard them say the phrase "I'll **** em up" about 8 times so far.

I just don't understand why some people have such a debilitating fear of getting married. Here in this country we have a cross section of Gays and Lesbians who desperately want that experience but Heterosexuals who mostly have that unimpeded right are such wussies when it comes to marriage.

I never understood how people nowadays could get married and NOT think that a divorce was around the corner after the honeymoon. And THEN get married AGAIN.

****heads. :o

You think that's crazy... My sister decided to become engaged to the guy she's currently with a month after they got together... And most of their interactions were through video chat. They had only spent actual time together for one weekend.

Now that **** I can't understand.

I guess I'm different than most women because when I go shopping it's for food and necessities. I'm a relatively cheap girl when it comes to shopping. I stick with the bare minimum in terms of clothes. Maybe it's because I've lived on meager paychecks most of my life and I've never been extravagant when it comes to things like clothes, jewelry, etc. etc. I've lived decades only buying T-shirts and sweats or jeans because that's all I can afford.
