Thinking of getting into archery

Ive been thinking for a while about getting a bow and getting into archery, i think its fun and sh*** so im wondering.. anyone here into it?

ohh and my Fav Comicbook character ust happens to be Green Arrow

and what sould i get .. a Compound or Recurve bow ? :P

lol no.. started shooting abit for fun long before i got into comics :P
(and it was Kevin smiths run on Green Arrow that got me into comics)
im just considering taking something i think is fun that i do at a friends house like once twice a year and making it my hobby..

I tried it at a friend's house last year.

Basic markmanship applies, it wasn't overly difficult.

The hardest thing is keeping steady while drawing the bowstring back.

I wouldn't suggest it as a hobby, but that's just me. I wasn't too entralled by it.

I personnally think that it would be easier for you to learn on a compound.Try going to a good sporting goods store(*****, modells ,the sports authority )usually have a decent bow package for under $250.00.I've been using a compound for years and love it. My son who is 10 has been shooting for a couple years now.Green arrow watch out! Good luck .....let me know what you decide.

I tried out archery at a local club last year. It'll be expensive, as you should really find a club to join, and the equipment won't be cheap. I didn't have the time/money last year, but it's something I'd like to take up again. It can really tone up your arm muscles as pulling the bow string is equivalent to weight training, although I forget the figures.

If you take it up without joining a society, make sure you buy a decent net and don't fire around people! Wind + arrows = death! They are powerful weapons!!!
