My guess is Caitlin AND her brother have the same power. If true, tat would be a bit weak, IMO

my guess is that Caitlin is the one the put him in the container or she was involved in it. Which means she met him before her brother did and is hiding something. She did say in the episode something to the effect of "every girl has her secrets".

In that case, I'm guessing the electricity power comes from Kristin Bell's character, since I've read that when she appears, she will be looking for Peter.

I took the graphic novel to show how emotions affect his powers. He's grown to like her a great deal and as a result he believes more in himself and is able to handle the powers better. I never thought it indicated that she had similar powers.

can anybody post some kind of a screen cap to confirm that the "Godsend" image is in fact in the family crest, and that it didn't transform into it at the end? because i remember it as being the latter.

But think of how he had to access his healing ability when he was thrown off the roof: he thought of Claire and how he felt about her. His lightning ability didn't materialize on the beach until he thought about Caitlin. As I said, it's suggestive, not concrete.

It didn't transform, it was fading, and the last vestige of the gang symbol was the godsend symbol before it completely disappeared.

Does anyone think the new villain put the necklace on peter? KB is said to have electric powers so maybe she found him for the company or the new villain.

Maybe that's the important part, and not thinking about Claire herself. Afterall, he lost his memory and he can still use his powers. Maybe being around Caitlin brought up similar emotions to what he felt around Kristen Bell's character. Maybe he had a relationship with her.

Just a theory, of course.

The symbol has gone from subtle clue to tired cliche. It's popping up way too much, and it's meaning has become so obvious, they may as well flash "HERO!" in bright lights.

Then how did he use DL's phasing? Peter never talked to DL and didn't develop some emotional reference to the guy.

The same way he used telekinesis, heard the gangster's thoughts, and used his lightning ability. He isn't in control of these powers right now; his emotional state brings them out. When he thinks of the others - has empathy - he has control. remember, Claude called him an empath. That doesn't mean he absorbs abilities, that was a key to how he uses and controls them.

empathy: 1.the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.

I asked that question of you because it sounded like you were implying he couldn't use a power unless he had a more direct connection to a person.

Caitlin maybe the source of that [BLACKOUT]new lighting power[/BLACKOUT]. But at that point she just simply gave him a point of focus to unblock his mind and use it.

I don't think Peter's powers have nearly as much to do with what HE feels as much as what OTHERS feel... I think that's why he used Sylar, Jessica and Elle's ability when he was angry or intense and he used DL's ability when he was trapped, because those are the emotions that THOSE people attatch to their abilities... those are the emotions he GOT from those people that had the abilities attatched to them.

Now true, Peter does use his emotions a lot, but I think it's more because he's an emotional guy than needing to feel a certain way being hardcoded into his DNA.
