I saw it I loved it.Missed the Helmet and thought Loki was too soft.

I didn't even remember about the helmet.:wow:
Didn't miss it either.
I thought Loki was great. Kudos to the actor. I think we can see him way less soft from now on.

Aside from Jane's girl friend, I liked every actor and their respective characters.
Ray Stevenson and Idris Elba made my favorite Asgardians, after Thor. Specially Ray's Volstagg. He made a charismatic persona with a big heart. Reminded me of the midget from LOTR.
I also liked how they made Sif a strong female Asgardian, who isn't there just to be saved or to be a damsel in distress. She is a brave warrior too.

I never read the comics nor cared about the Thor character, but I thought the movie was great.

Loki too soft? How so?
Well he felt faultless.Like it really wasn't his fault also I felt sentiment for him and I don't want to feel sentiment for a villian. At heart he is not evil just misunderstood. No real drive for him to be a villian it's more like a ploy for attention. Also as far as the helmet is concern it's true I didn't miss it that much but it was needed.Especially when the Warriors three went into battle.I missed it more on them.It seems unheard of the go into battle without a helmet especially for Vikings....????I just feel it would have added to it.Also what about the scene with Sif where she lands on earth naked and beats a guy up by a campfire?????

So... you didn't want Loki? What you saw in the film was 100% comic book accurate Loki.

So... you didn't want Loki? Just some other villain?
What I am saying is his reasoning for being evil is not as much as a drive from an evil intention as much as it is a person who is just hurt.
I almost feel sorry for him and that's not the way I want to feel for a villian.Maybe he needed to play it differently
It seems as though his sitiuation is not his fault. For instance let's go back to Scar from the Lion King same situation however his quest was out of greed and selfishness.I didn't feel that way with Loki he just wanted to win his Fathers approval.
I can't explain it.
Maybe they needed to play up the jealousy bit some more.Again he just seemed to soft.
Also his origin in the movie is not so in the comics is it???
I can't remember. My recolection was that they were just from different mothers.
Maybe that had to do with it.I just felt he was playing the hand he was dealt with like he really didn't have that much of a choice and that his situation was unfair.Wich cause me to have sentiment for him again not a way I want to feel for a villian.

No, Loki is the son of a Frost Giant in the comics too.

Loki's motivations are complex. He's a complex character. He's a bastard but you feel sympathy for him.

He clearly loves his brother... but he also resents him. He's jealous of him. But not just that, he strongly believes that Thor as King would be disastrous. And really, can you disagree with him? As Loki himself said "I never wanted to be King". He doesn't. He just wants to be thought of as equal to Thor. But he isn't, because he isn't a real Asgardian and he isn't some macho warrior like his brother.

And i'm sorry, but what is wrong with having a villain with complex motivations? Loki wasn't a "hahaha i'm evil and greedy!" villain. Good. He had depth to him, he was complex. And Hiddleston gave a performance that wouldn't look out of place in an Oscar bait period drama or the West End stage.

For the best story that sums up the Loki character, I recommend the Loki mini series from 2004. Look it up.

Okay I can see your point and I nither want the ha,ha,ha greedy villian either.I want complex and sentiment but I felt it stirred up the wrong sentiment for me anyway. What I felt was almost a sense of pity.Again let's look at Magneto he is very complex. His situation could very well promote pity but Ian Mckellen the actor didn't play it from that angle.I even understand why he is a villian in his situation I might do the same but I don't feel pity for him.Again maybe it was the angle Tom Hiddleston played Loki and that doesn't mean he is a bad actor he did give a good performance. You actually have to be a tremendous actor to emote pity for a villian. For me it may have just been the angle he played it from.
