Is that good two weeks out?

Went with 800 to 900. Normally I would go with a billy because of how the Iron Man and Cap trilogy ended with each earning over a billion but they've obviously been focused on more than Thor sadly. It's gonna get a good bump because it looks great and will be a blast to see in theaters but while Thor is part of the Marvel trinity he just doesn't get treated the same in the MCU. So will be just under a billion. Would love for it to gross more but Idk if Thor is popular like Spidey around the world or more popular than the GOTG here in the states.

I'll see it in about 30 hours and will have a much better idea of what it might make.

I can't wait to see what you think, be sure to look out for the coolest bits.

Opening Weekend: $124mil
Domestic: $341mil
Overseas: $523mil
Worldwide: $864mil

It seems that Thor's OW has been revised to $90M (saw it at screen rant).....

Hmmm, seems a bit low.

Opening weekend: $109 Million
Domestic: $320 Million
International: $575 Million
World Wide: $895 Million

Source? I've just done a search on Screen Rant and nothing is coming up. There's been no new OW estimates released either according to google. Sites are still showing the previous $100-$110M, which I still think is a little conservative but that's understandable.

That's old news. Screenrant said "more than 90M". The Hollywood Reporter said 90 - 100M and Deadline said 100 to 110M. All of these predictions were given October 12th.

Deadline at exactly the same time also had predicted that Spider-Man: Homecoming would do between 90 - 100M (a lower prediction that the one for Thor Ragnarok) and it ended up doing 117M OW.

So this is without the knowledge of the great reviews.

I guess soon we should be getting revised box office predictions and also more accurate. Let's see how much the RT rating will or will not have an impact on the movie success, because Spider-Man: Homecoming clearly benefited from a very good critical reception.

Exactly. The astonishing critical reception for TR hasn't been taken into account yet. Spider-Man Homecoming capitalized on that, on the critical response and RT rating. Critically and on RT, Thor Ragnarok is performing better than Spider-Man Homecoming was at the same time. So those are all things to take into consideration.

These early projections can be a bit off, and tracking as a whole has a track record that is rather shaky. It can’t account for huge events that Justice League could become, and that shows with the latest DC film. Wonder Woman‘s early projections had it at $80M and it opened to over $100M at the end of its first weekend. Thor: Ragnarok meanwhile had an early projection of $100M and official tracking now has it at $90M. If Justice League‘s actual tracking is on par with these early projections, WB should feel better than good come November 17th.

they seem to iterate that thor's OW has been revised down from 100m to 90m.

Yeah. This could easily have been a 6.5 avg 70% at the moment. Films that have this much comedy usually struggle to get into the upper echelons.

The Screen Rant article dates October 12th. They actually took their information from a Yahoo article.
Yahoo’s latest article reports that Ragnarok is looking to nab more than $90 during its opening weekend, which is a definite step-up from its predecessors.
http://screenrant.com/thor-ragnarok-90-million-opening-weekend/

The Yahoo article said the following.
The October box office is looking bleak, but the Odinson will be coming to the rescue on Nov. 2, when Marvel releases Thor: Ragnarok. And the early tracking numbers are huge, with projections set for a $90-100 million opening.

It dates 21st Oct.....

Anyway....i hope T-R gets way more than $100M OW

Yes, the article you posted is dated 21st, but the article it links to is dated 12th October 2017. It's an old pre-reviews estimate, it's not new.

The article you posted is from the 21st October. But the article they refer to as " "official tracking now..." is from the 12th October. And as i said it was based on a Yahoo article that said 90 to 100M.

Deadline had it between 100 to 110 and Box Office Pro already increased their prediction to 105M. I have little to no doubt that this will easily crack 100M OW.

My prediction all along has been 120M. And with the buzz and critical response it may very well happen.
