Thor's Action scenes

Yeah I understand you, but I'd rather see more "focused" action rather than "large scale" action. It's because when the scope is too big they tend to "jump around" alot between different perspectives of the action (see. Transformers 1 final batte). "Focused" action allows for more detailed & more satisfying fight scenes

Besides, The Destroyer >>> Any amount of forces Loki can muster up. Unlike some peope on this thread I actually think they're going to say The Destroyer for the final batte, like they should (The Detroyer is faaar more of a threat than Loki)

Let's save these large scale action scenes for a possible second movie.:word:

First off, Welcome Aboard!
Yeah you have to figure Loki SHOULD be a bit more powerful because he does take Odin's place.
I personally think the battle with the Destroyer is what gets Thor's powers back. Because Sif and the Warriors Three warn Thor of Destroyer and he's in a t-shirt at that point with Destroyer landing out in the desert.

The big fight we see with Loki is a power boosted Loki and Thor at that point has Mjolnir and his costume back. Basically dethroning Loki and returning Odin to the throne. (I think Odin just goes into an Odinsleep and doesn't really die)

Any chances that Thor would actually have to fight through some enemies to GET to Loki? Hope so... And the way Loki seems to 'savour' taking Odin's spear might mean that some of his power is boosted by that weapon (hopefully)...

Although, come to think of that, I really don't want this to appear like the winner is 'whoever has the biggest stick'...

Doesn't Loki have some kind of connection with the Frost Giants? Maybe Loki forms a union with the Frost Giant King to allow them access into Asgard when he takes over it.

Loki is a frost giant. I could see the alliance angle working for the movie. In the comics, though, Loki hates his own people even more than the gods.

They shunned him when he was young because he was so small, didnt they?

Does his hatred for them stem from that, Corp?

Yep. Most recently, JMS showed that his own father thought he was pathetic for being a runt and abused him physically and emotionally at every turn.

Why thank you kind sir, and yeah I would like to see Thor and Loki clashing with their full powers whenever they fight. I could see Loki using magical blast of energy, teleportation, and quick strikes & Thor using lightning bolts, ground slams, hammer throws, lifting heavy objects, and sending Loki flying (maybe through walls) whenever he lands a solid blow.

Of course bro, save it for the sequels or The Avengers movie. This is an "origin" story after all, showing the general audience who Thor is on a personal level :) (lol)

I'm guessing the biggest action sequence will be the battle with the Destroyer. Can't imagine it getting much bigger than that.

The fight with Loki should also be quite epic, but I just think the Destroyer battle might be huge.

I think you're right. The Destroyer fight'll be the big spectacle and the Loki fight will be more personal.

They did just say in one of those interviews that the town was meant to be destroyed in so many words.

The destroyer fight will be the biggest set piece I believe. I imagine Thor and his friends(The warriors three) will get their asses kicked until and at the last moment Thor will get his powers back and will hammer the destroyer down. I imagine it will be a cross between the sword in the stone and He-man.

Thor pulls the hammer from The stone raises it and then a huge lightning bolt will descend upon him and the suit and armor will come down and will adhere to his body just the same way it was taken from him by Odin in the trailer. After that he'll open a can of wup ass on the Destroyer armor. it should be amazing to watch

I really hope the Thor vs Destroyer battle will >>>>>>> the Hulk vs Abomination fight. Although the Hulk vs Blonsky fight was the ideal length for a climactic fight, it was a bit "shallow" with a relatively small amount of blows thrown. I thought their was going to be much more destruction & property damage (vehicle throwing & body slams).

It was a good fight overall though, but Spider-Man 2 & Transformers ROTF had the best fight scenes I've ever seen in comic book movies. I'm hoping "Thor" will meet or even exceed the quality of their fight sequences.

On another note, I would like to see The Destroyer go on a rampage, as well as interacting with the world a good bit before the final battle.

Well, we saw in the trailer that it knocks some cars away. I'm guessing those would be cars thrown by either Thor or one of the other gods, and people throwing cars is always fun in big action scenes. :hehe:

Not seeing the movie because Thor doesn't fly? That's quite funny actually.

Don't see the movie. There's a 99.9% chance you won't like it.

But hey, that's just my opinion.

Yeah, vehicle throwing during fight scenes really add the "super" aspect to the battles. If you look in the background of the scene where The Destroyer knocks away the car you'll notice some very strong winds (probably Thor creating a tornado). :)

I suspect the Destroyer fight will be the big blowout, filled with huge explosions, special effects, all out action sequence (cars being tossed around ... always a plus).

The fight with Loki will also be awesome, but in a slightly different way. I suspect this might be the more emotional, one on one, brother against brother throw down.

Both = Awesome

Agreed, both are awesome in their own way as well as showcasing two different aspecs of "Thor".

"Epic" & "Relatable"

...who says he doesn't fly?
He DOES fly we just haven't see it yet.

Was thinking - in the absense of Mjolnir being Thor's way of soaring through the skies, is it not plausible for Thor to use the wind, much like Storm does?

It should be very plausable, as long as he keeps Mjolnir extended in front of him while he files.
