Since I'm a woman and most of the folks I knew didn't collect comics...remember Beanie Babies? Sounds like the exact same thing, except the bottom fell out of Beanie Baby investment far sooner.

I have a copy of Star Wars #1 signed by Jorge Lucas. He laughed when I asked him to sign it.

It was an "I'm not the guy who you think I am" kind of laugh. But he was cool with it after I told him it was just for laughes. The copy I had was in pretty bad shape. I think I dug it out of a dollar bin at the con we were at.
