So I opened my e-mail today and had awaiting me a congratulations from NYU for being accepted into their "Spring in NY" program. It comes at an interesting time in my life because I had applied for the program under the idea that I'd graduate a year early from my current college, University of Rhode Island, and I'd get to go to NYU for a semester which would supplement my study abroad experience last year nicely. Well things have changed, I've decided to transfer out and go to a school where I can focus on my creative writing rather than being a double major in "English/Film" as well as presenting me wiht more prosperous prospects of getting a job then URI could. Now I've decided I'd transfer out for the Fall 2009 semester.

I have basically completed nearly all of my requirements for both of my majors for English and Film so transferring out is great because if I go into a creative writing or script-writing program I have an excellent foundation to draw from (as well having very little in loans from URI). With all that said, I'd like to still go somewhere for my spring semester which will benefit me later on in life. The benefits of going to NYU for a semester is not only taking advantage of the great education it provides for a semester as well as meeting and interacting hopefully with the very talented student body, but the program provides internships in New York. Australia on the otherhand is Australia which is awesome and the program that my school provides sets the student up with an internship relating to what the student is interested in, it would be in Sydney, Australia.

I am left with an interesting choice, I am curious to hear from some of the older SHH! posters based on their experiences and what not. Obviously, my decision won't be based soley on these posts but its nice to get an outside opinion.

Edit: In terms of cost, both are kind of unfinalized as of yet but I'll need to make a decision but I see NYU being more expensive (I won't know till I get the finacial aid package from them)
