PAX East is coming up next weekend, and publisher THQ Nordic has officially revealed their lineup of playable games that will be on display at the show. While most of the games on the list have already been announced, they have revealed two new games that aim to revive a pair of modern classics.
Sine Mora, the horizontal bullet hell shooter from 2012 is getting an extended version called Sine Mora EX that will release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this Summer. On top of that, 2008's Wii exclusive, de Blob is getting a PC re-release that will arrive at the end of next month.
Here's a full list of all the games THQ Nordic will be bringing to the show with official descriptions, courtesy of an official press release:

    • ELEX - a handcrafted action role-playing experience set in a post-apocalyptic science-fantasy universe. Deep moral choices, a huge seamless game world, mutated creatures, and a big arsenal of melee and medium-to-long-distance weaponry top off this holistic RPG made in Germany. PC/PS4/Xbox One: Q3 2017
    • SpellForce 3 - labeled as the “fantasy Age of Empires” by some, or as a ray of hope for RTS-enthusiasts by others, THQ Nordic will showcase the latest build of this RTS/RPG hybrid on its stand. Experience war-torn times in the world of Eo – command your troops, level/gear/skill up your heroes, strengthen your forces, conquer pivotal zones to expand your territory, and experience the world-changing events that will lead up to the convocation ritual. PC (MR) exclusive: Q3 2017
    • Battle Chasers: Nightwar - an RPG inspired by the console greats, featuring deep dungeon diving, turn-based combat presented in a classic JRPG format, and a rich story driven by world exploration. PC/Mac, PS4, Xbox One: 2017
    • This is the Police (console version) - dive into a deep story of corruption, crime, and intrigue. Take the role of gritty police chief Jack Boyd, and come face to face with the ugly underbelly of Freeburg, a city spiraling down the drain. Will Jack reach his retirement with a nice nest egg, or will he end up broke... or worse? PS4/Xbox One: March 22nd, 2017
    • Lock’s Quest - Lock is the Kingdom’s last hope to survive an oncoming invasion. As a newly trained Archineer, Lock must utilize his skills to build customized towers, traps, walls, weapons, and other defenses in order preserve the precious source artifacts. PC/PS4/Xbox One: April 25th, 2017
    • de Blob - flip, bounce and smash your way past the all-powerful I.N.K.T. Corporation to launch a revolution and save Chroma City from a future without color. Enjoy the 4-player split screen multiplayer in eight different modes on different stations. PC: April 27th, 2017
    • Sine Mora EX - the extended version of the horizontal shoot'em up Sine Mora, providing a unique challenge, where time is the ultimate factor. It is a gorgeous shoot'em up that offers a Story Mode which weaves an over-the-top tale and an Arcade Mode that provides deep, satisfying gameplay to challenge genre fans. We will even bring our own PAX high score challenge mode to the show. Be prepared, as it is not for the faint of heart. PC/PS4/Xbox One: Summer 2017
PAX East is going down next weekend from March 10th through the 12th in Boston. If you're going to be at the show and want to check out these games, the THQ Nordic booth is #20037.

dunno if anyone from bluetongue worked on rayman origins, but i do know that they hired the rayman 3 guy to help so maybe.

I saw the name The Blob then saw the picture of the robo octopus thing and thought, "That series went really ****ing dark."

that console RPG sounds interesting.

I thought THQ went bankrupt.

I saw the name The Blob then saw the picture of the robo octopus thing and thought, "That series went really ****ing dark."

Nordic Games reincorporates to THQ Nordic

THQ is sorta-kinda back.

THQ-Nordic-Rebrand.jpg

Nordic Games has reincorporated itself. It is now known as THQ Nordic.
THQ was a video games publisher up until 2013. When the company closed, the little-known Nordic Games acquired 16 of its intellectual properties, including Darksiders and Red Faction.

“Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name,” THQ Nordic said in a press release. “Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IPs.”

The press release adds that the company currently has 23 game projects in development, 13 of which have not yet been publicly announced, “but are sure to be in the next months.”

Get the full overview of the reincorporation below.
Obligatory Flashback
It all started out in Sweden in 2008 as a mini-venture to self-publish such illustrious titles like Dance Party Club Hits, Kart Racer and Truck Racer (just to name a few) on PlayStation 2 and Nintendo Wii. The following year, we landed We Sing, a million-plus selling karaoke franchise for Nintendo Wii. In 2011, with our first of many acquisitions to come, Nordic Games began its transformation from small scale, two-platform games publisher to a multi-platform, multi-genre global player.

One could say the most defining moment for our company happened in 2013, grabbing headlines like; “Who the **** is Nordic Games?”, “Darksiders Gets Bought By…Nordic Games?”, and “Nordic Games explains who the f they are, plans for THQ assets”. Funny enough, back then, this was so true. Until that point, we had been a low profile publisher uttering expletives of our own along the way, and all of a sudden we found ourselves in the international gaming media spotlight. We knew then, with great certainty, that we’d just made the best deal in our company´s history.

Nordic Games By The Numbers
Since our formation in 2008, we proudly look back on 8 years of continuous growth on all (!) aspects of our business, not just the bottom-line. During that time, 16 individual IPs and franchise acquisitions were concluded, resulting in a catalogue of more than 250 actively sold games, over 60 trademarks, hundreds of web domains and a few patents for hardware and software.

61 game development projects were initiated and have launched, and most importantly, we have created 82 jobs (if you include external development teams this number amounts to 325) and pride ourselves on our very, very, very low staff fluctuation, which basically amounts to zero.

Two development studios were setup – one located in Phoenix, Arizona (let’s hope Donald Trump reads this), the other one in Munich, Germany, and we have managed to grow our group wide team size from 2 in 2008 to 84 team members today.

Introducing THQ Nordic (the KISS part)
Whilst we take great pride in our Swedish roots and accomplished a great deal under the Nordic Games masthead, we decided it was time to incorporate the THQ name. Those key brands will continue to shape our business in a meaningful way going forward, and THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than “owning” a highly competitive portfolio of IPs. We cherish them, and align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve. Side note – another upside to this whole rebrand thing is we don’t get asked about the Nordic Game parties at Gamescom anymore – it was the other guys who threw them.
With this rebrand we are entering the next phase in our company’s evolution.

As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced, but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.
As far as the logo design is concerned, Lars Wingefors, founder and owner of THQ Nordic (formerly known as Nordic Games) would like to say this:

“As for the new logo design, we literally stumbled across it when browsing some art files, after we bought the THQ trademark and figured: why not? We hope the reception from our partners is less ambivalent but we’re OK either way. We invite you to our Gamescom booth to play our games and see the logo in large-scale format.”

Please visit us in Cologne and stop by our booth to take a look at our current projects and also some of our upcoming games. If you’re not interested at all, you can still pop by to charge your mobile phones, hunt Pokémons, or just hang out and chat with us.
