Well, the thing is that I might not be able to become a skinny, Hollywood approved waif, but I'm not fat. 95% of my body is muscle from all the walking that I've done. When I was in High School I used to walk to school in the morning and I have highly developed muscles in my legs and buttocks. Now I have the standard middle aged creaking joints and all but I can still walk pretty good distances if I wanted to. I think the misconception is that skinny = healthy when that's just not true. I'm telling you I could eat the same amount of food, get the same amount of activity as a skinny person and still be the same physique I am now. In fact, I've been roughly the same body size (Well, excluding a bigger bosom than the one I had at 14 while I was still developing a womanly figure.) that I was since Middle school as I can still wear the clothes I wore at 14, not that I would be wearing them now mind you. My teen years were during the pastel 80's and I have some pretty scary 80's style knit sweaters.
Not possible. You only get single-digit body fat from being a professional bodybuilder during competition season, and what they do to get down there is VERY unhealthy. They can't sustain it.

Look at this chart:

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-chart.php

If you believe you really have 5% body fat, you're either close to death or quite delusional.

Considering you think you have single-digit body fat from WALKING, I know which option I'm aiming for. :o

Skinny does not always equal healthy, but fat almost always equals unhealthy. Also, being fat isn't like being black or gay. You're not a minority group. You're someone who wants to justify their unhealthy body instead of making hard lifestyle choices to change it. Finally I find your claim that you're 95% muscle mass like the Kingpin extremely dubious. No one gets buff from walking.
I actually do know some super-fit people who are on the larger side. They really are just stocky, and could kick my ass on a bike or run any day of the week.

Difference is, they wouldn't claim to have 5% body fat. :oldrazz:

Nothing better for you than walking everywhere.

Great for the body and the mind.

I don't walk as often as I do, since I walked to the local diner every night to see and chat with people. But walking also helps get me to the movie theater in the next town over to see Thor and First Class XD

Oh, and my one nephew, the younger one, has devised an interesting way of punishing his oldest brother. He told me that he punishes him by floating an air biscuit.

I enjoy walking. But since I'm not a 75 year old man, I wouldn't call it exercise. Not unless you're walking for hours every day.

It's best that it's not directly directed at anyone, but I'm glad to know it's not at me!

Why can't I have a really good straight friend who's hot and likes to show off? :csad:

Because I don't have a really good lesbian friend who likes to show off, that's why.

Um, get out there and do stuff?

I mean, it's one thing to SAY you're healthy. It's another to prove it by signing up for 5K races or hiking with people and doing group sports.

Look, I am healthy. If my doctor had gotten anything back from the full physical and battery of tests she ran on my biological functions, she would have told me. Everything is fine with my body despite my not being as anorexic as Lady Gaga. I can walk miles and miles when not suffering from a bad chest cold like I have this week. I worked all 4 friggin' days of work despite the exhaustion and inability to breath properly from all the mucus in my lungs and sinus cavities. On top of that I walked to and from work while being so sick, except for one night where I was taken to work by a very nice, concerned cop. And I toughed through it with only Dayquil and painkillers so don't any of you even call me a powderpuff fatty. I am plus sized and proud. If you can't handle that I'm healthy and not a single digit than screw off and live in your delusional world of bulimic/anorexic, unhealthy diet pill popping ego cases.

And that's great.

But people don't listen to just talk. Talk is cheap. Anybody can talk. They pay attention when they SEE it.

As I've mentioned before, I have a friend who is large. She was unhealthy and was even bulimic in her younger years (didn't look it - her size is entirely genetic), but then decided to get fit and start training for mini triathlons. Turns out she sucked at (and hated) running and liked the cycling part best, and now she does indoor cycling. She's gotten so fit she even spends most of the slow work season out on the mountain, snowboarding every day for weeks.

Do you think if she went around telling people how healthy she was, that they'd listen? No, she has to go out and beat the pants off of skinnier people in the velodrome and THEN people start paying attention to her. She has worked hard to get where she is, and did more than she said she was gonna do.

The way you throw around eating disorders as if they're simply just a bad decision disgusts me. Educate yourself before you talk about something. :down

JJJ's all anti-fat. I bet that means he's sexy. Private message me some pics. :cwink:

Nah, not anti-fat. Anti-blame someone else. Jinouga goes into defensive rants about how her flaws make her great and it's other people who are at fault. She takes the approach of a victim instead of looking inward to deal with her problems. It'd be like if I had blamed all sober people for my adderall habit, instead of just admitting "screw it, I have a problem of my own making that I have to fix."

I know! She tends to be a bit delusional at times. :o

Just follow the portion size on whatever you cook. Little stuff like that will add up for you if you want to get to a healthier size. That and eating good stuff. I've seen people who'd be considered obese according to their BMI, but they're mostly muscle.
