Superman Returns Tidal Wave sequence in SR?

this was long rumored but died out. but in the hbo footage we see water crashing against trhe docks o fmetropolis, we see a fast ripple racing towards the city.

then at 12:26 we see what looks to be water flowing in betwen all of the buildings....is this a big sequence thats been unmentioned??

too anyone whose seen this, can you confirm it?
