Coming off his adaptation of the YA novel The Maze Runner, Grant Myers is taking on a bold film for 20th Century Fox. TIDES OF WAR is a World War II film unlike any other and will undoubtedly get people talking.
There have been countless movies about the second World War, but this one may sound a little different. It combines the fantasy and historical fiction genres, telling the story of a mermaid off the Greek islands who bands with Allied naval forces against the Nazis building a superweapon. She also gets swept up in a romance with a young spy pilot, all while trying to save her oceanic home.
Daria Cercek and Nicky Weinstock are overseeing the project for Fox. Weinstock is also producing the film.
Myers has several other screenplays in development, including Queen of Hearts for Universal, telling the story of a young Queen in Wonderland, as well as Narc for Fox and an untitled Warner Bros. project about a group of treasure hunters.
