I don't know what video-program-server-thing Yahoo is using, but it sucks so bad

Well, we can be sure that this movie will bomb, even if it's really a great one (I can't wait for it). There are two reasons: A) There will be way bigger sharks like I Am Legend or Golden Compass, which will get the money, and B) it's not a box office type of movie.

So lets hope Academy won't lets us down with their political views and will give this film at least one nomination.

Maybe not so much Tim Burton, but Johnny Depp is a huge marque name. He's the one who will bring in the audience.

Depp sounds pretty awful singing, otherwise the visual style looks promising.

Such a cool trailer, looks great, he sounds a bit like Capt Jack as well lol.

Loved the trailer and the cinematography is fantastic.

I agree, you're pretty much right on all points but for me, Burton's novelty hasn't worn off yet:woot:

My only gripe is that basically, instead of casting the right woman for the main female lead, he always just casts his wife...because she's his wife.

Thank God Steven Spielberg doesn't cast Kate Capshaw in the main female role in every single film he's made.

that's cool if the Burton novelty hasn't worn off after 12 pictures for you by now, it wore off for me when I was 6 pretty much

I've never really been attracted to anything he does, and the fact i personally think he did slightly better than a Bryan Singer job on the original Batman creating a mood way to goofy for the movie and putting his gothic nuances in a movie that could benifit from some, but not the overabundance I feel he put in it. However Ed Wood and Big Fish do rule, but Fish is the furthest from his style imo he has done. But in contrast I think Edward Scissorhands is one of the most overrated movies ever, its complete style over substance, and I don't want to get to hypocritical because I am one who general favors style over substance too, but I think the overratedness comes from praise of the emotional complexities in a movie that has none, which I wouldn't do with a movie like transformers, which is what I think Ed Scissorhands is a lot like, aesthetically astounding but lacking in story, it in reality is a new take on the ugly duckling meets frankenstien (but far below frankenstien's caliber)

Helena Carter is a talented actress, and she should get more roles than she does but until that day comes she will always be the girl in every burton movie

all in all I am fairly tired of Burton, I will probably see this cause I have a couple friends who are in love with burton, and I have seen the musical and it is cool....so I hope it is good

What i love about this is in a time when the words "gritty" and "realistic" are the damn holy grail, we have a movie fully embracing theatricality and using a lush, macabre, stylistic palette.

That was hardly singing though, wait till you hear him sing a song all the way through, he'll be good!
Great trailer, even more excitied now! :woot:

Didnt Deep sing on corpse bride? didnt seem that bad then, cant judge him on a few lines

This looks stunning i love the way Butons films have been turning out as of late:D

The colors in the trailer are phenomenal, I'm eagerly awaiting this film. Depp looks sick.

So it's officially rated R now for graphic bloody violence. (This may have been said but I didn't see it.)

so from what the trailer shows...Captain Jack is Back...and cutting hair...

It is fresh I'll give it that, and the source material is flawless

I think gritty and realistic are thrown around at a little too much liberty, like studios now want to make comic book movies "realistic" thanks in large part to batman begins, but there is only so much realism that can go into a movie about a man in a invincible suit of iron that can fly, or a guy that turns big and green, so while I think your right to an extent, I don't think gritty and realistic fiction is all that prevelent in hindsight

I  Helena Bonham Carter. I'll see it just for her.

Tim Burton
Alan Rickman
and of course Johnny Depp will make me see this movie.
